Adam Carolla Hosts Dive Bomber at the Roxy (Photos)

If you're unaware, comedian and former co-host of "The Man Show" Adam Carolla has recently launched a new adult beverage by the name of "Mangria", or in other words, a manly version of Sangria. I am not a food and beverage critic so I won't give you a break down of the pro's and cons of Adam's new alcohol offering. Although I am a fan of Adam's humor, I was not at the Roxy on a Saturday night to see or talk to Mr. Adam Carolla. I mention him because he was the evenings host for the reason I was at the Roxy - Dive Bomber!

Even if you're not into the SoCal music scene, you may have run into or have seen Dive Bomber's "Nomad"/"Painted Man"/or just crazy painted front man at Comic Con in San Diego or on tv coverage of Comic Con. If you are into music, you may have seen Dive Bomber open for bands like LA Guns. If you live in SoCal, you will be able to see them play with Jack Russell's Great White at the M15 in Corona 2/22/13, or with Skid Row at the M15 in April.

Playing with National acts like those mentioned above is important, but that's not the only thing Dive Bomber has going for them. Currently listed in the top 3 of the San Diego Reverbnation charts and in the 60's amongst all bands in the U.S. on Reverbnation, Dive Bomber is on the cusp of a major breakthrough.

I've been a fan of Dive Bomber since meeting them prior to their show with L.A. Guns in June 2012 at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip. My first impression was prior to sound check when some stars/stripes/and flames painted dude starts talking with me in the HOB green room bathroom (neither of us were using the bathroom for bodily functions at the time). After that unusual encounter, I was eagerly awaiting to see if Dive Bomber's on stage performance matched the off stage energy and visual vitality I had just witnessed. In short, it surpassed everything I expected and I became a fan.

Fast forward 9+ months and it's round 2 of my Dive Bomber concert experience. This time it's in Hollywood again, but unlike my first Dive Bomber show, this time the San Diego based band is the headliner at the world famous Roxy...on a Saturday night. Headlining the Roxy on a Saturday night is a major accomplishment for any band that is not an established National Act, especially one that is not from Hollywood. As like the first time I saw them perform live, Dive Bomber killed it again, but this time they were joined on stage by a couple local extra guests. Besides the aforementioned Adam Carolla, Dive Bomber was joined on stage by "Trippy the Clown" and for the bands finale, Danny Christ jumped on a microphone to close the show.

You can find Dive Bomber on all the usual social media outlets including Facebook. If you love a great show and Rock 'n Roll, check their schedule for upcoming concerts near you.
