Acacia is a sophisticated, urban chic, seafood restaurant in huntington, a vibrant youthful town with an ever growing list of fine restaurants. We had been told by friends that Acacia was a hot new restaurant with great food, sensational mussel pots. music, fun and dancing. In March we received an invitation to dine at Acacia by owner/host Michael Cassano and visited the restaurant midweek for dinner.Upon entering Acacia we found an upscale, intimate new york style restaurant. Acacia is well lit, and sophisticated and comfortable.
The front of the restaurant is dominated by an impressive, mirrored wood bar and chairs. Michael met us by the bar, led us to the dining area adjacent to the bar, where we sat at a comfortable banquet.
Our menu for the evening consisted of specialties of the house served tapas style. We began our Acacia dinner with:
-Tuna Tartare served in a large glass with avocado and spicy mayo- On par with the best sushi/sashimi served in Asian restaurants.
-Jumbo Lump crab cakes- served with hot and sour cucumbers and lemon aioli
we next enjoyed a very authentic and creamy caesar salad made with parmesan crisps. Beautifully prepared and served.
For our entrees we ordered:
-A large bowl of exceptionally large and delicious "Acacia's Best"- A bowl filled with mussels, Lobster, truffles, pancetta & cheese fondue- Simply awesome, rich, delicious with oversized mussels. Certainly among the best we have ever tasted.
Rack of Lamb- a magnificent dijon crusted rack of rosemary lamb au jus made with roasted sweet potatoes, caramelized applewood bacon, and brussel sprouts. Great to look at, and even better to feast on.
We each shared each others entrees and were totally satiated with the superb fare prepared by Acacia.
We finished our feast with iced capuccino and tea with biscotti.
We came away from our meal totally impressed with the food, service and ambiance! Acacia is an exciting new winner on restaurant row in Huntington. Conveniently located next to municipal parking.
Acacia offers some of the best seafood, and mussels on the northshore. The atmosphere is intimate, and upscale
