The hunger for an enjoyable manga dealing with BL (boys love) is a challenge but not an impossible task. This is a list of the most enjoyable mangas this far read.
- ‘The Guilty’ vol. 1 thru 4, of the series by Katsura Izumi, Hinako Takanaga. (Romance) The tale of forbidden love between a writer and his editor. Toya Sakurai has always dream of becoming an editor and editing his favorite novelist’s, Kai Hodaka, books. His dream comes true, only with the unexpected result of everlasting love.
- ‘Ai no Kusabi’ vol. 1 thru 4, of the series by Rieko Yoshihara. (Romance/Sci-Fi) Riki, a mongrel from the slums, cross paths with a Blondie by the name of Iason Mink, of Tanagura. Like two magnets bouncing off each other, these two have fought against forces that say they shouldn’t be together and prove them wrong.
- ‘Border’ vol. 1 thru 3 of the series by Kodaka Kazuma. (Suspense) Yamato Suo starts off in the special ops and finds his soul mate fighting alongside of him. Tragedy strikes and with the help from his makeshift family, he finds a way to go on. Together they open an investigation agency and save people. On his own, he searches for someone to fill the hole in his heart.
- ‘Maiden Rose’ vol. 1 and 2 by Fusanosuke Inariya. (Romance/Military) At a young age, Taki Reizen must show his courage to his countrymen and lead them into war. By his side is his knight and lover, Claus von Wolfstadt, a trader to his country but forever loyal to his lord. His heart beats for only one, and he will die for him.
- ‘Teahouse’ Chapters 1 thru 3 by Emirain. (Romance/Mystery) A brothel filled with extraordinary characters dealing with love, denial, betrayal and mystery. No one is without secretes or regrets.
- ‘Starfighter’ vol. 1 by Hamletmachine. (Sic-fi/Romance) Abel, a navigator, only wanted to fulfill his dream of voyaging to unknown places and to be his own man. He never bargained on encountering Cain, a fighter who marked Abel on their first meeting, making his character terribly clear.
- ‘The Black Sun’ vol. 1 of the series by Uki Ogasawara. (Romance/Military) Monastic Knight, Prince Leonard De Limbourg, Commander and protector of Gerun Fortress, never thought his body would be used as a bribe to protect his people. But he finds himself right in that situation when offered to General Jamala Jan. Leonard becomes the general’s disgruntle captive, but as time passed, their hearts grew with passion and love.
- ‘Romantic Illusions’ by Reiichi Hiiro. (Romance/Split-Personality) Yu was just a normal florist, or was he? In reality, he also had two other personalities that act as both his brothers and roommates: Kaname a high powered lawyer, and Ryo a playboy. Yu created them to protect him in stressful situations, only now he’s fallen in love and so has his personalities. How are they going to juggle three men that all love the same body?
- ‘The Lonely Egotist’ by Hikaru Masaki, Masara Minase. (Romance) Minami Kasuga was a fresh face in the designer field. By request, he’s asked for by an entrepreneur named Shinya Asakura to help with the interior design of his newest inn the Moon Hotel. Only Kasuga had no idea it was a love hotel. Asakura realizes this and takes full advantage of the inexperienced designer.
- ‘Lost Souls’ by Barbra Sheridan and Anne Cain. (Romance) A century old love story between two vampires. When his lover, Kiyoshi, is taken from him, a deeply grieving Ryuhei searches to find peace. But soon he’s haunted with the thought that Kiyoshi had been reincarnated into a college student, who he falls in love with. Not only that, but the spirit of Kiyoshi isn’t so happy with his lover’s new relationship either.
- ‘Don’t Worry Mama’ by Narise Konohara, Artist Yuki Shimizu. (Romance) Bring marooned was never in Yunchi Higashiyanna plans and being trapped with his nasty, overweight boss, Takashi Imakura, made it almost unbearable. That is, until a change of heart turned these two opposites into friends, and then lovers.
