Vampire’s Portrait was written and illustrated by Hiroki Kusumoto
Her two love interest are Zain a blood thirsty vampire and Loup a struggling artist working on the streets to survive. They met by chance when Zain noticed Loup made portraits so he asked him to make a portrait of his true face, offering him a place to stay and money to boot.
An offer Loup couldn’t refuse and also he wanted to because he was drawn in by Zain’s haunting eyes.
The arrangement went fine until every time Loup showed his finished work Zain rejected it and destroyed it violently telling Loup it was his right to do so.
Loup started again and this time when Zain raised a dagger up to slash the painting Loup cried that it wasn’t finished yet and tried to stop him but getting injured in the process Zain’s vampire hunger kicks in and starts to lick the blood from Loups fingers than the thirst really overwhelms Zain as he takes Loup from behind and bites his neck.
Coming to his senses Zain releases Loup from his death grip and runs out. Loup surprised but not frighten realized Zain was a vampire and seemed ok with it. When Zain returns Loup tells him he still wants to create his portrait.
All is well Loup and Zain become closer not only as friends and roommates but as lovers, that is until Adam comes into play and cause trouble for the two setting of jealous feeling in Loup, Zain tells him not to worry but Adam makes him position with Zain very clear to Loup.
And another threat a rival vampire named Verloren shows up to torment Zain his assume big brother, luring Loup to Zain because he was bored.
All seems lost for the artist but Zain comes through to save the day and his lover.
The manga was a fast read, from beginning to end the art work flawless the story gripping with suspense and romance.
