A warm and humid Bay Area Turkey Day in Houston

Thanksgiving Bay Area Turkey Day Race

The cold front was just a day late for Thanksgiving's Bay Area Turkey Day 10K/5K and Kid'sK. Even so, the event still served to whet the appetite of runners and walkers in the Clear Lake area.

As usual, there were turkey trots all over the Houston area, but the Bay Area event filled the parking lots on both sides of Bay Area Blvd. This particular race was put on by Koala and the On the Run running specialty store. We're still waiting for the official results to be posted, but race photos are available.

The next major race in the area is less than a week away. It's the first year for the La Porte by the Bay Half Marathon. I spoke to the race director and there are still some slots open for those who have yet to register and embrace the challenge of an over and back of the Fred Hartman Bridge.
