It is time for another short fiction review and another sojourn into the world of erotica. While I am not a big fan of the genre, I seem to have accumulated a fair number of erotica books so it only seems right to read them. This short story, or more of a short novella, is “A Sexual Revenge” by Madison Langston.
Joanne and Steven’s marriage is in trouble. The two just never seem to have time for each other and their sex lives, which has never really been god for Joanne, is getting worse. Steven takes a new job and Joanne reluctantly leaves her job so they can move to a new town and star over but that plan is failing. Joanne’s only escape is with her friend Genny. As Joanne’s frustration grows, Genny invites her into bed and opens her eyes to a new world. Joanne knows her marriage is over, but she is determined to show Steven just how good it could have been if he had only tried before she says goodbye for good.
“Sexual revenge” was not, in my opinion, a very good book. Even though I was not expecting much since I am not a fan of the genre, I thought that the writing was lackluster and the action uninspiring. There is little story to support the short tale but rather a thin framework to fill in the spaces between uninspiring sex scenes. Maybe a story is not the point of this erotica work, but I look for more in a book than this story had to offer. Sex is alright in a story but even the sex scenes in the tale fell flat. Hardcore fans of the genre may be satisfied with the story, but this is the least enjoyable book that I have read in the genre so far. On the plus side, this book available for free in ebook format from Smashwords.
