A phone accessory for the holiday season

The holidays are upon us, and with the holidays, comes more quality time spent with family and friends. But sometimes, we’re not so fortunate – and we have to resort to catching up on the phone.

For those who have to call instead of visit in person, why not lighten the mood with some retro fabulousness – and comfort?

According to the developer’s website, the Native Union POP Handset for the iPhone, iPad, iPod, and Android Phones, designed by the French designer David Turpin, “combines classic style with a contemporary edge and is finished with a luxurious soft-touch texture.” The product retails at approximately $29 (plus shipping, through Amazon).

Here are the technical details, according to Amazon:

  • Using a Pop reduces up to 99% of the radiation absorbed, compared to the direct use of your mobile phone;
  • Native 3.5mm jack plugs directly into your iPhone, Blackberry and latest Macbooks (some mobile phones may need an adaptor to connect the POP to the mobile telephone);
  • One-touch button for pick-up/hang-up directly from the handset;
  • Noise reduction system; and
  • Patented design

In short, it could be more comfortable than using a cell phone. And if and when the holiday drama gets out of control, that one-touch hang-up button might prove more satisfying than hanging up on a touch-screen.

This holiday season, get ready to reconnect with family and friends – in style and comfort.
