A New World of Fantasy: Book Review

“Innovera Yakov: The Journey of A Thousand Eyes”
By: Kia Garriques

Book Description:
“Innovera Yakov: The Journey of A Thousand Eyes” takes you into a world of excitement and danger where thoughts and feelings are overheard and minds can travel to other worlds. Be prepared to immerse yourself in a world where falling in love could cost you your life and nothing is as it seems.

My Review:
“Innovera Yakov: The Journey of a Thousand Eyes” is the first installment in the action-packed fantasy drama series. This book’s characters possess powers of destruction and healing. While they are being prepared for their ‘Journey’, the characters compete, love, live and disappear without a trace.
Usually when I come across a book that is set in an alternate reality world, the first couple of chapters are confusing; it takes the reader time to grasp the new reality that the book is set in. With “Innovera Yakov- The Journey of A Thousand Eyes” however, I did not feel this way at all; from the first chapter the setting was very clear.
This is a true fantasy book that has some very interesting insights into a world that is defiantly unlike anything I have come across. Garriques does a great job taking the reader into her very vivid fantasy world; you truly feel as if you are a part of her world while you are reading. The characters are very well described; they seem to just jump right off of the page.
My favorite parts of “Innovera Yakov- The Journey of A Thousand Eyes” are the descriptions of the characters. Garriques is able to use her writing to truly make distinct character descriptions; Ayana, Gamma, and Blu Tara are among my favorites. I am mostly impressed by the author’s work in this book where she manages to create an entirely new world; Garriques has a truly epic imagination.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves to read fantasy novels; Garriques takes the word ‘fantasy’ to a whole new level. Fantasy is not my number one genre to read, but I truly enjoyed this book. For the romance lovers, there is some romance in this book but it isn’t the typical romances you may be reading these days. After reading this book I can truly say that I don’t think there is anything typical or ordinary about Garriques’ writing at all.
