Written, directed, produced, and starring Seth MacFarlane, ‘A Million Ways to Die in the West’ is a comedy set in America in the 1880s. The main gag is, as the name implies, the fact that life back then was miserable, as for most, the likelihood of death was probable everywhere, all the time.
But among the comical grievances and complaints, there is a love story and a bit of action that doesn’t splice in so well and detracts from the humor. So this is not a non-stop laugh fest, But it is an entertaining journey that will leave you satisfied (as well as explain why no one smiled in photographs from that time; not to mention, only one subtle Family Guy joke).
Be sure to stay seated until after the credits to see the unofficial sequel to ‘Django Unchained.’
At the close, I would like to thank Epic Theaters for their providing a very amiable theater in which to view this (and other) films and recommend that you go to one of their several local locations for your next cinematic experience.
