A jaw dropping follow up to 'An Inconvenient Friend'

If you thought Rhonda McKnight’s previous novel “An Inconvenient Friend” was spicy and hard to put down, then the follow up “What Kind of Fool” really puts you on the edge of your seat and forces you to question: Will you ever take back a cheating spouse? Typically, books that are written in different voices chapter by chapter is a complete turn off for me as I am a “classical” reader and I steer clear of them at all times because I get comfortable with a particular character in one point of view and care not for the others.

However, Samaria Jacobs, Greg and Angelina Preston, and Mekhi all have stories to share of love, of want and woe- and the multiple points of views work well for this novel.

Samaria Jacobs has finally found her own man and no longer sleeps with married men. She is done with all of that and considers herself saved. She has left Greg Preston and his wife Angelina alone but she still feels hurt for what she has done to Angelina. Angelina was the only one who was truly there for her. Mekhi is now a multiplatinum producer and he has eyes only for Samaria and proposes to her. All seems well until Samaria learns she is pregnant. Is it Greg’s or Mekhi’s child?

Meanwhile, Angelina is still moving forward with her and Greg’s divorce. Greg is deeply sorry for having mistreated Angelina all these months/years and he wants her back- bad. He never realized what he had until Angelina physically moved out of their house and joined a new church. Now Greg must get creative to win her back and relying on his irreligious, cheating father's advice is not the way to go. Then Angelina gets sick, too ill and she learns that forgiveness must be deeply real because God extends forgiveness to us all.

This book will have you questioning your own faith in God. To believe in Him in all things no matter what. There is a death that happens in the book, a loss that is heavily felt and a reminder that God is still in control.

My only peeve about the story is this: As much as I enjoy Greg and Angelina relying on the Lord to help them, Greg has cheated before. He is a primal man, a passionate and handsome man and women know this. What’s to stop him from cheating again if Angelina takes him back?

This provides a good topic for church study groups.
