Movie Review: A Haunted House (2013)

A Haunted House was released earlier this month, on the 11th. It stars Marlon Wayans, who also write this cinematic bomb.

They Wayan Brothers are both the kings of comedy and of the parody. Yes, the comedy is low brow, profane and disgusting, at times. It is also hilarious.

White Chicks was outstanding. Scary Movie was a scream, as was Scary Movie 2. Pardon the pun.

Like most comedians, some of the comedy is hilarious and the other some is yawnful. True comedic genius is not usually long-lived. That's just how it is.

Hence, A Haunted House shouldn't be a surprise. It stunk. It reeked.

Awful.

But, then again, the movie that it spoofs also stunk. Both Paranormal Activity and A Haunted House were chaotic, illogical and terrifyingly boring.

However, the naked butt ratio was much higher in the latter.

One would think that the naked butt ratio, combined with the likes of the Wayan Brothers would make for a laugh out loud, laugh like no one else is around, laugh like you mean it, dark movie house joy.

But, this is simply not so.

Save your money, bake some muffins, stare at the cats in your neighborhood, but, don't drop $20 to see this. You'll be wanting those 86 minutes of time refunded to you.
