A filling, light lunch at Greek Fiesta in Cary, NC

The Mediterranean plate at Greek Fiesta in Cary is a meal fit for two.

This light order came with pita slices, humus and oil, veggie-filled tzatziki sauce, Greek vegetable salad, two skewers of chicken breast and three dolmas. The dolmas are grape leaves stuffed with a tart filling then formed into rolls.

The pita slices and tzatziki sauce were a luscious, comforting combination; you feel an immediate cooling effect, especially liberating on hot days.

The humus and grape leaf rolls were on the tart side, but well balanced with the pita and skewers of chicken. You may also select beef kabobs instead of chicken kabobs. The chicken had a nice crunch, but if it were cooked another minute longer, it would have been dry.

Delectably large wedges of tomatoes were served with the Greek vegetable salad. The salad greens were a bit wilted, but nice and cold.

Ladyfingers and baklava were calling at this examiner, but would have been an over-indulgence after such a large meal.

Gyros, fries and a variety of platter combinations are also available.

The Mediterranean platter  is an excellent way to beat the heat and fill your tummy with fewer calories compared to a gyro and fries.

The atmosphere is spacious, cool and nicely decorated. It’s a kickback place for two or for a family.

Greek Fiesat is located in Crossroads Plaza across the street from Michael’s Arts and Crafts, with mulitple locations throughout the Triangle.
