"A Field in England", now available in Theaters, on iTunes or VOD from Drafthouse Films, is a phantasmagorical freak-out. A freak-out filled with dark magic and warring wizards. Dazzling visuals topped with colorless hues, thespian talents and a pulsing soundtrack of pounding drums and chiming bells that gives off a totally mystifying, mind-blowing experience.

Set during the English Civil War in 1648, a scholarly seer, known only as Whitehead (Reece Shearsmith), is sent to find an Irish nobleman (Michael Smiley) believed to be in league with the devil. Joined by a band of lost soldiers, these captors soon become captives and are forced to dig for buried treasure in the vast countryside ringed with psychedelic mushrooms. All to the delight of the necromancer who may have more questions than answers hidden up the sleeve of his sweeping cloak.

Drug-fueled psychosis delivered by British Indie Director Ben Wheatley, the filmmaker of such fine fare as "Down Terrace", "Kill List" and "Sightseers", along with his wife, this movie's scriptwriter Amy Jump. Producing a major work on a minor budget.

Shot through with exquisite style and a weird spirit that means to transfix and bewitch. "A Field in England" casts a spell that you won't soon forget.
