Clear Channel's annual Jingle Ball made its way to Chicago's United Center on Monday, Dec. 9. 103.5 KISS FM hosted the event that was presented by Jam Audio Collection as part of the iHeartRadio 2013 tour. This year’s lineup featured a wealth of talent that included Robin Thicke, Enrique Iglesias, Avril Lavigne, Paramore, Flo Rida, Icona Pop, Travie McCoy and Fifth Harmony.
While the Jingle Ball has been a recurring show for more than a decade, Monday was the first time the concert was held in Chicago. Remaining cities on the tour include Atlanta tonight followed by Boston, Washington D.C., Tampa Bay and Miami. The lineup varies from city-to-city with Miley Cyrus, Fall Out Boy, Selena Gomez and a few others popping in for a number of shows.
Representing just under three and a half hours of music, each act had 15-30 minutes to showcase their hits in a live setting for the Chicago crowd. Though some fans might have been disappointed that their favorite had a short set, it was an ideal opportunity to witness a number of multi-platinum artists performing their greatest hits in one evening. A rotating turntable on the stage ensured set changes took no more than a few minutes.
In addition to providing an evening of virtually non-stop entertainment, the tour also benefitted the Ryan Seacrest Foundation. One dollar from each ticket sold on the tour will be donated to the non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring youth through entertainment and education focused initiatives.
