100% Pure Cosmetics

Having allergies in general can be a huge pain, not only to food, but to cosmetics. It's very frustrating and a time consuming task to search out "pure" cosmetics that are mineral free, paraben free etc. After all, it's no fun for your face and/or eyes to swell up!

100% Pure Cosmetics has come up with a line of both skincare and cosmetics that are made strictly from fruits, vegetables, cocoa beans, etc.

From their website:

100% Pure Cosmetics specializes in creating the purest and most nutrient rich Makeup, SkinCare, Hair and Bath and Body products. Using all natural, organic and vegan ingredients they provide quality products that cater to all age groups and skin types. Focusing on rare and dynamic extracts, 100% Pure brings unique and breakthrough products to the market, including being the first and only company to produce fruit pigmented colored makeup........

100% Pure has been featured on Dr. Oz, in Women's Health, Vegetarian Times and Women's Day, to name just a few. Actress Jessica Alba, a known health advocate, incorporates 100% Pure products into her beauty routine.

I was fortunate enough to stumble upon this wonderful line after finding that I was extremely allergic to loose mineral makeup. I purchased their eyeshadow, blush tint and satin finish foundation.

Toffee powdered eyeshadow $15

Ingredients: Rice Starch, Pigments of Cacao, Apricot, Peach, Vanilla, Pomegranate, Blackberry, Blueberry, Raspberry, Coffee, Papaya, Tomato, Black Tea and Acai, Vitamin E (a-tocopherol), Rosehip Oil, Pomegranate Seed Oil, Avocado Butter, Cocoa Butter, Red Wine Resveratrol, Vitamin C (ascorbyl palmitate), may contain Mica (natural shimmer mineral).

This eyeshadow is nothing short of amazing. It has great pigment and will definitely cling to your brush (unlike most shadows). It goes on like satin and stays put all day. This particular color is perfect for a polished, clean look. Great for an everyday look at the office or on weekend getaways. Comparable to the pigment of Chanel eyeshadows and the satin finish of Lancome shadows. Lovely!

Cranberry Glow Lip and Cheek Tint $15

Ingredients: Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Honey Beeswax, Grapeseed Oil, Vitamin E (a-tocopherol), Vitamin C (ascorbyl palmitate), pigments of Cranberry, Pomegranate, Blackberry, Raspberry, Cabernet Grape, Plum, Strawberry, Cherry, Peach, Apricot, Blueberry, Carrot and Tomato, Strawberry Extract

The packaging on this is super cute and has two uses. It can be used as a cheek tint and a lip tint. Using it as a cheek tint is pure bliss, it glides on with ease depositing just the right about of pigment that's natural and long lasting. Using it on the lips makes your lips look freshly "bitten", just a great product! Peach Glow looks like a wonderful color as well but stays "out of stock" for lengths of time so Cranberry was my second choice, but it turned out to be a good one!

100% Pure Healthy Skin Foundation $32

Medicinal Ingredients: w/w 15% Titanium Dioxide, 10% Zinc Oxide Acts as a physical barrier against UV to protect against sunburn

Non-medicinal Ingredients: Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice1, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Starch, Pigmented Extracts of: Prunus Persica (Peach) Fruit, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Fruit, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa Bean) and Lycium Chinese (Goji Berry) Fruit, Euterpe Oleracea (Acai Berry) Fruit Oil, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Seed Oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Sodium Ascorbate (Vitamin C), Extracts of: Cerifera Cera (Candelilla Wax), Organic Camellia Sinensis (Ferment White Tea) Leaf2, Coffea Arabica (Coffee Cherry) Seed, Aristotelia Chilensis (Maqui Berry), Vitis Vinifera (Muscadine Grape) Skin, Garcinia Mangostana (Mangosteen) Peel, Malpighia Punicifolia (Acerola) Fruit, Sambucus Canadensis (Elderberry), Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed, Lonicera Caprifolium (Japanese Honeysuckle)

This product boasts a full coverage satin finish. I would label it more of a medium to buildable full coverage. It's light and refreshing feel makes it seem like you're not wearing anything...literally. I love, love the feel of it's lightness on the skin, something you don't find with a medium to full coverage foundation of any kind! It will not settle in fine lines and it doesn't look like you're wearing any makeup at all. If there is anything I cannot stand is to actually "see" the makeup on my face. It just gives the skin a beautiful, natural look that's flawless. You cannot ask for more, especially from an all natural, certified organic foundation.

The examples given on the website for skin colors to determine your shade are spot on. However, if you are still a bit timid on choosing a color:

If you are an NC-15 in MAC, choose Creme, if you are an NC-20 choose White Peach, if you are an NC-25 choose Beige Peach, if you are an NC-30 go with Golden Peach and so on.

I cannot wait to try more shadow colors and also try their mascara! Yes, mascara!

Colors:
Black Tea - blackest black - 0.32 oz / 7 g
Blackberry - shimmery black plum - 0.32 oz / 7 g
Blueberry - shimmery blue black - 0.32 oz / 7 g
Dark Chocolate - shimmery black brown - 0.32 oz / 7 g

Please be advised that if you have a histamine intolerance or Mastocytosis (a mast cell disorder) you may have to be careful using these products, as some contain berry, wine, tomato etc. All of which the above disorders cannot ingest because of the high histamine content. Although we all have our own limits as to what will set off these problems, so some may in fact be able to use these products and some may not.

All in all, this is a wonderful, clean, organic line that I know I will be using from here on out personally and on my clients who have allergies.
