There's one word which comes to mind when you walk through the back door of Villa Christina: Luxurious.
Set among the hills of Perimeter Summit, near Perimeter Mall, Villa Christina's backyard patio whisks you away to a Tuscan-like hillside. Designed by landscape architect, Roy Ashley, the patio features everything you'd imagine in a Van Gogh painting. Cypress trees and evergreens set the backdrop, while blooming perennials and annuals grab your attention. The landscape features a mature rose garden and a circular herb garden, planted with Rosemary, Basil, Oregano and Thyme. The patio walkway is made of flagstone and runs from the back door of the restaurant to the pillared Gazebo at the back of the property.
Unlike many patio's in the Atlanta area, the seating here is spacious. You won't hear the rush of traffic or smell the exhaust from the highway as you relax in the garden, and there are no worries of being overheard by the diners at the next table. Unless of course, you hear the excited screams of a newly engaged couple. The Restaurant Manager, Jukka Hamalainen, admits that marriage proposals "happen here frequently... and just last weekend, a man proposed to his girlfriend on the patio." Undoubtedly, a romantic setting to pop the question.
The backyard patio is also known for its year round weddings. Julie Bilecky, the Director of Sales and Marketing, says that Villa Christina hosts about two hundred weddings a year, with their last big party accommodating four hundred guests. For these occasions, the wedding party can rent the entire restaurant, the patio space and/ or the beautifully appointed banquet room upstairs.
