MODS’ 17th Annual Wine, Spirits and Culinary Celebration! Friday, March 30th

On March 30, 2012, Ft. Lauderdale’s acclaimed Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS) will host its 17th Annual Wine, Spirits & Culinary Celebration, made possible by Bank of America. All proceeds from this spectacular event benefit the Museum.

 The Wine, Spirits and Culinary Celebration will showcase a sequence of champagne, spirits or wine with food pairings, each bound to delight, educate and entertain guests and their pallets.

Highlighting the evening are more than 40 of South Florida’s top restaurants, with some real “All-Stars,” including 3030 Ocean, A Thierry’s Catering and Event Design, Big City Tavern, Bistro Mezzaluna, Bravo Ristorante, Café Ala Carte, Café Vico, Casa D’Angelo Ristorante, Cookies by Design, Crepemaker, Grateful Palate, Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-six,  ilios @ Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, Johnny V’s, Las Olas Wine Café, The Melting Pot, PL8 Kitchen, SA1A, Sea Level Restaurant and Ocean Bar, Sette Bello, Solita, Steak 954, Susie’s Scrumptious Sweets, Tarpon Bend, Texas de Brazil, The Capital Grille, Timpano, TK Oriental Fine Foods, Tower Club, Tundra, Truluck’s, Via Luna at the Ritz-Carlton,  and the highly acclaimed YOLO.

 The big news this year the EcoDiscovery Center expansion, with twice the space - plus more tastings can take place in the new Mangurian Foundation Learning Center. More than 40 of South Florida’s top restaurants and chefs will be represented, as well as wines from around the world, courtesy of Southern Wine and Spirits. The event also features a silent auction and a complimentary Reidel wine glass for every guest. 

 The evening will start off with an exclusive VIP Martini Reception from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. VIP guests will enjoy a champagne tasting with Champagne Wayne paired with a culinary demonstration featuring a well-known chef. The VIP evening concludes with exclusive access to the ultra chic Hilton Fort Lauderdale VIP Lounge to eat, drink and dance under the stars from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. An estimated 1,800 guests are expected to attend this year’s celebration. 

Doors open for VIP admission at 6:00 p.m. and general admission at 7:30 p.m. VIP tickets are $150 per person and general admission tickets are $85 per person. Presale tickets are available at a reduced rate until March 1, 2012 with VIP tickets reduced to $135 per person and general admission tickets reduced to $75 per person.   The Museum of Discovery features The Discovery Center, and the spectacular IMAX® theatre.
