W.D Deli is a notable favorite amongst college students and locals in the area. Situated in an antique 1920’s home, its location is only one of the many contributing factors to the establishment’s character and eclectic charm.  Original artworks plaster the playfully colored walls and each work of art has its own story to tell. Ask the owners about the art on display, and they will gladly divulge on the artwork's origins. The proprietors, Wayne Beers and Michael Bobo, actually contributed some of their own artistic talents to the establishment's interior design. Along with the paintings and collages, intricately designed plates coat the walls, some of which are actually gifts from the customers. With this information on hand, it is obvious that this place is very special and familial for frequenters.

The upstairs dining facility is reminiscent of English countryside charm. The beautiful chandelier, when carefully observed, reveals a culmination of tea cups, silverware, and fruit décor. Although there is not a reoccurring theme in the deli’s atmosphere, the quirky collaboration of objects, artwork, and color creates a visual interest that just plain works. The menu provides just as much variety as the eatery's diversified composition.

This deli produces delicious sandwiches, soups, and salads for every kind of diet and palette. Here, the vegetarian, vegan, and carnivore can easily find options for their lifestyle. The vegetarian might opt for the Avocado Delight sandwich, the Three Bean chili, or the Vegetarian Sandwich of course. The Vegan might try the new Happy Hummus sandwich and just as easily subtract dairy products from the vegetarian items on the menu. The owners understand that leverage is the key to success and aim to please their customers by ascertaining what they would like to see happen on the menu.

In passionate pursuit of customer satisfaction, Beers and Bobo travel the nation to see what’s going on in the foodie world. Paninis are definitely hot on the press at the moment and are now part of W.D deli’s sandwich choices; the Three Cheese Grilled Cheese Panini happens to Wayne Beers' current favorite. While the sandwiches are terrific, the soups prove extremely popular amongst frequenters, even in the Texas heat. Customers can add on a cup of soup for merely $3.25 or order a bowl for the outstanding price of $4.25!

The prices at W.D deli are unbeatable. Not only are Americans dealing with less disposable income in this economy; the holiday season has left most everyone a little tight on funds. At this deli, one can have an entire lunch for under $10.00, and the servings are anything but frugal. The tuna salad sandwich would leave one feeling quite satisfied with only half of the entrée. Classic deli style sandwiches are served up with potato salad, potato chips, or pasta salad. The Basic Box Lunch special is great for the hungry tummy on a budget; this deal comes with a sandwich, chips, and a big cookie for $6.75.

Elaborating on the cookie front, no meal is complete without one of these yummy desserts. W.D Deli produces 150 cookies every day and these tasty treats are sold for $1.35 each! The dough is always fresh and each cookie is made with a 4 oz. scoop. Be sure to ask about the cookie of the month! Although it is simply ludicrous to even begin to pass on these luscious cookies, there are other options for dessert such as dessert bars and cake by the slice, all reasonably priced.

The prices, magnificent service, excellent food, and general character of this establishment keep the same customers coming back while continuing to attract new visitors.
