It is hard to get oneself to try something new when you have your favorites in every part of town. I have my Thai spots at every corner of the valley, but my sense of adventure led me to New Thai Cafe to give it a chance. I must remember to thank that sense of mine.
A new addition to the valley, New Thai Cafe has only been open a few month, but is already building momentum with their loyal customers. The recipes and friendly service are great, and the prices are reasonable enough for frequent dining. From a starter of pan-fried Gyoza (pot stickers) filled with rich, delicious pork, through each main dish, the balance of spices and flavors was incredible.
When I ordered the gang masaman, the owner told me it wasn't his favorite of his curries, but it was certainly not a disappointment. He holds his kitchen to very high standards, and it certainly shows. My favorite dish is the Pad Kee Mao, spicy stir-fried rice noodle with bell peppers, carrots, onions, broccoli and Thai basil. Best of all, an appetizer, two main dishes (which we couldn't completely finish), and a couple of perfectly-strong iced coffees all came in under $30.
They are open Monday-Thursday 11am-8:30pm, and Friday-Saturday 11am-9pm. Dine-in, take-out, and catering are available. Be sure to give it a try on your next dining-trip.

Always on the lookout for good Thai, wherever I travel!
This is my favorite Thai restaurant in the Salt Lake Valley, hands down. EXCELLENT food, friendly service... Might even be my favorite restaurant overall.
