The Oriole Park at Camden Yards food tour

You have heard that Orioles and Delaware North Companies announced 12-year partnership for Sportservice to provide food, beverage and retail merchandise services at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.  Last week I was invited to attend a food tour of Baltimore restaurants that include samplings of a variety of Baltimore’s most well-known and unique food items and will include stops at Lexington Market, Little Italy, Lombard Street and Fells Point.  I was sad to say I was unable to attend due to a prior obligation. This tour was intended to familiarize Delaware North executives and chefs with Baltimore's unique food items and provide inspiration for concessions at Camden Yards.

The tour started at Sabatino’s restaurant in Little Italy, where group meet with members of the media to discuss their experiences and how these food items could provide inspiration for new dining possibilities at Camden Yards.  Some of those in attendance were Rick Abramson, president, Delaware North Sportservice; Richard Dobransky, vice president of food and beverage, Delaware North and James Major, regional executive chef, Delaware North Sportservice. They will be accompanied by other Sportservice and Delaware North executives, including Steve Eden, director of corporate marketing communications, and Glen White, manager of media relations.  From Baltimore I do know that Richard Gorelick from the Baltimore Sun and Suzanne Loudermilk of Baltimore Magazine where some of those in attendance from the Baltimore media.

The group sampled the famous bookmaker salad, meatballs, sausage and peppers and garlic bread at Sabatino's. Other stops on the tour included Faidley's and Berger cookies at Lexington Market, Stuggy's, Whistling Oyster and Kooper's Tavern in Fell's Point, Matthews Pizza, Attman's Deli, B&O American Brasserie and Vaccaro's.

The group will return for a second food tour of the city next month. I can't wait to see where they head to next!

So what Baltimore foods do you hope to see at Oriole Park at Camden Yards?
