According to an article in trade industry magazine, Advertising Age, neither you nor the pop industry have been paying much attention to lemon-lime flavors like Sprite, Sierra Mist, and 7-Up. That's even though it's the second most popular flavor behind cola. Let's face it, lemon-lime flavored pop is a classic mixer for cocktails, too. So, what happened?
Flavored waters, energy drinks, novelty pop flavors have all taken the ad dollars, shelf space, and attention of stores, the industry, and its customers. The industry claims that there's not much difference between various lemon-lime pops, but I disagree! 7-Up has a classic snappy flavor and scent that's even copied by Bonne Bell Lipsmackers.
Beverage makers plan to turn things around soon with new packaging, ads, and formulas. So far, the only breaking news is that Sierra Mist will be introducing a natural pop with sugar and clear coloring. The public perceives clear as a more natural drink.

Comments
the new Sierra Mist sucks! So release a new flavor but why do away with the original flavoring that we all loved so much. Thanks Pepsi you have officially ruined one of my favorite drinks. Guess there will be more room for me to drink Sprite which is a Coke product.
