Phillips moves to Baltimore's Power Plant after three decades at Harborplace

After more than 30 years in its original  Inner Harbor location, Phillips Seafood has moved across the Baltimore harbor and opened the doors of its new location in the Power Plant on Friday, November 11th at 4pm.

Under the direction of General Manager Brian Fountain and Executive Chef Todd Weisz, Phillips Seafood will serve an extensive menu of classic seafood dishes along with lots of dining choices for non-seafood lovers.

The design features an easy blend of vintage and modern.  In the lounge and bar, plush Turkish ottomans provide a relaxing perch to enjoy the music from the famous Phillips piano that has been rolled across the harbor.  The main dining room has a refined and intimate atmosphere, with gleaming woods, mosaic tile floors, gallery walls filled with Phillips family and Chesapeake regional photos, and antiqued mirrors that reflect light and add warmth. Characteristic Baltimore touches such as stained glass transom panels and oversized scale models of the historic ships Constellation and Pride of Baltimore II fill the dining rooms.

The open kitchen is a model of clean efficiency and provides a birds-eye view of the chefs in action.  Fun will not be confined to the indoors at this new location, however. A spectacular crab deck will be open in warm weather months. Sitting on the water, it will provide a fun place to make a crabby mess.

Brian Fountain, the new General Manager,  brings an extensive wine and beverage knowledge and a wealth of training experience to his new position. He has opened and operated restaurants in Boston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Atlantic city. And now he's ready to share his enthusiam with Charm City.   Fountain  is already a member of the Phillips family having served as the general manager of Phillips' Atlantic City location for the past three years. Before joining Phillips, he served as the director of operations for over eight venues at Marathon Grill Restaurants in Philadelphia. His resume also boasts Starr Restaurant Group in Philadelphia, and Harrah's VooDoo Café and Lounge in the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

His ability to adapt quickly to new environments and oversee a restaurant's operations make Fountain a welcome addition to Phillips' new Power Plant location. As general manager, Fountain is reaching out to visitors and community members in the Baltimore area by providing news, events and announcements through the Phillips Seafood blog. Check it out at: http://blog.phillipsfoods.com/index.php/author/gm-baltimore/ and follow along as he brings something new to the classic establishment of Phillips Seafood Restaurants.

Open for dinner on November 11th at 4 pm, and lunch beginning Monday, November 14th at 11:30 am, Phillips Seafood is located at 601 E. Pratt Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21202.
