Mojito Classico
I was invited to Milan* to sample some menu items and explore the new restaurant. When you walk in and make your way up the stairs you are welcomed with trendy and contemporary music flowing among the modern, bold, stylish atmosphere with white, crimson red and espresso colors. It offers three levels for dining plus an outdoor patio that over looks the streets of Little Italy. The main floor includes a sushi bar and lounge surrounding a U-shaped, 30-seat bar perfect for a social gathering with friends.
The menu offers a blend of modern Italian cuisine infused with Mediterranean flavor that is prepared by Executive Chef Stephen Carey. As you gaze over the menu you can find fresh grilled steaks, hand-made pastas, bruschetta, flatbreads and sushi Italiano, as well as wines and blended cocktails inspired by world-renown fashion designers.
To start with each table is served fresh bread and an olive tapenade. As we contemplated over what enticing items to try we sipped on fresh brewed ice tea and a Mojito Classico ($10)- Bacardi rum with fresh mint leaves and lime, simple syrup, a splash of lime juice and club soda. Make sure to also check out the cocktail menu that offers top-rated Italian and world wines and blended cocktails inspired by world-renown fashion designers.

Milan Rotolo
I started with the Milan Rotolo ($18)- avocado, sun dried tomato, fried calamari, nori, seasoned rice, white tuna, yellowfin tuna, basil pesto, blood orange balsamic glaze and scallion. The presentation of this sushi is so elegant that it is like a work of art. Be ready to use your knife and fork however, because it is too large to use chopsticks for this one but don’t let that scare you because it is yummy. The ingredients and flavors were very fresh and worked well together. My Husband started with the Spinaci Intingolo ($9) - creamy spinach dip, roasted garlic, marinated artichokes, and house made flat breads. The dip has a nice kick to it and is one of the best spinach dips I have had.Its creamy texture and nice blend of spinach, garlic and artichokes.
For my main entrée I had the Linguine Peppa ($26) - fresh shrimp, lobster, spinach, leeks, peppered linguine, brandied garlic cream sauce. After taking the first bite the first thing that came to my mind was WOW! The flavor of the garlic cream sauce was rich and was a nice combination with the shrimp and lobster. There were numerous shrimp and generous pieces of lobster, which were both cooked perfectly. My Husband had the Nuova York ($36) - 12oz USDA choice NY Strip, spinach lobster butter and Maine lobster mashed potatoes. It was a lean cut of NY Strip that was perfectly cooked to order and seasoned. The lobster in both the butter and mashed potatoes were also cooked perfectly and generous.

Torta Di Nocciole Al Cioccolato
For dessert I tried the GM Crème Brulee ($8) - Grand Marnier scented vanilla custard, crispy sugar crust and candied orange peel. Crème Brulee is one of my weaknesses and this one made me crumble- the custard was rich and smooth and the sugar crust with the pieces of candied orange peel just made it the Pièce de résistance. My Husband tried the Torta Di Nocciole Al Cioccolato ($8) - chocolate fudge cake, hazelnut butter, pastry cream and crème anglaise. This is a chocolate lover’s delight- rich and decadent.
Overall, the food was wonderful, the service was attentive and the atmosphere was trendy. The location of the restaurant is conveniently located next to a parking garage that offers evening parking for $3. I can’t wait to go back and try out some of the delectable sounding items on the menu. Buon Appetito! (enjoy your meal)
