Miss Shirley’s Café announced that it will hold an exclusive event to thank its Facebook fans for their support and dedication on social networks. Both Miss Shirley’s locations will host a complimentary happy hour from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 7, for fans of its Facebook Page.
To attend the happy hour, a first-of-its-kind event conceived by Eddie Dopkin, owner of Miss Shirley’s, fans of the restaurant must first “Like” the Miss Shirley’s Facebook Page and RSVP through the Events tab to be added to the guest list. Then, attendees who are among the first 100 to arrive at the Roland Park or Inner Harbor eateries can take advantage of complimentary cocktails and samples of Miss Shirley’s famous fare.
“We’re thrilled with the incredible success of our social media efforts over the past several months, and we want to express our appreciation for our Facebook fans,” said Dopkin, who also owns several other Baltimore City restaurants. “It’s heartening to see so many people interacting with us online and sharing their experiences with others.”
Earlier this year, Miss Shirley’s introduced a program that offers to Facebook fans free menu items, including sweet potato fries, banana waffles and pancakes. Dopkin hopes that these promotions and October’s happy hour event will be the beginning of an ongoing effort to convey gratitude to social media users who continue to spread the word about Miss Shirley’s.
