Baltimore restaurants can now share where local foods come from

One of my favorite things about the summer is the availability of fresh produce and goods from local farmers and suppliers.

There are many local Baltimore restaurants that use these local farms or even grow their own produce (farm-to-table or rooftop-to-tabletop).

There is a new website that is partnering with local Baltimore restaurants to help you know where each menu item comes from and is localy sourced called Real Time Farms.  Real Time Farms is a crowd-sourced online food guide. They provide you one location where you can learn about where your food comes from, whether staying in or eating out, so you can trust the food you eat.

Restaurants use Real Time Farms to easily share exactly which farms and artisans their ingredients come from.  Right now there are 2 local Baltimore restaurants that are participating:

It really great how it works- you roll over a menu item and its ingredients and the name of the local farm, artisans or distributor pops up allowing you to were it is from.  You can then click on the local farm, artisans or distributor and learn more about them.
