Last week I posted the first part about the Baltimore local Mason Dixon Wine Trail- here is the continuation of the experience...

Before heading to our second winery we stopped for some lunch at Messina’s Pizza. We started with an order of a dozen buffalo wings with garlic butter sauce ($6.50). They were crispy and perfectly cooked. The sauce wasn’t over powered with garlic flavored and was perfectly coated on each wing. I haven’t had wings this good in a while.

Then we split a medium pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. The crust was the perfect thickness and the sauce was overly sweet.  One down fall was they used canned mushroom so it had a bit of a metallic taste.

The second winery on the trail we went to was Naylor Wine Cellars.Naylor is nestles among 80 acres of southern York County, PA. The vineyards have vines of Old Eastern Labrusca, French-American and Classic European Vinifera grapes. After taking a tour you can stop by the shop and find a variety of gifts, wine accessories, gift baskets and essential for home wine makers. We had the honor to sit down with owner Richard Naylor and talk about all things wine over a few bottles. Mr. Naylor has been all over the world and experienced some extraordinary things when explore his love of wine. The stories he has are amazing.  After tasting some wine we left with a few bottles of our favorites:  First Capital (NV Off-dry, oak-aged taste of Italy, named for York, PA, the first Capital of the United States), Chambourcin (2007 Vintage. Very fine, dry, oak-aged) and Traminette (spicy and lingering flavors).
