TROY, NY -- The Arlington House wound up with the "best overall" entry in Tuesday night's "Pizzapalooza" event benefitting the Troy Boys' and Girls' Club.
The upscale West Sand Lake, Rensselaer County, restaurant came up with a savory Thai peanut shrimp pizza to lead numerous competitors in the public event held at the Franklin Terrace banquet house.
Baba Louie’s Woodfired Organic Pizza of Hudson, Columbia County, won two category awards.
Overall category winners:
Best Traditional (Thin Crust, Red Sauce): Classic pizza Margharita, Baba Louie’s Woodfired Organic Pizza, Hudson.
Best Traditional (Thick Crust, Red Sauce): Second Avenue Pizza, Lansingburgh (Troy).
Best White Pizza: Chicken bacon ranch pizza, Carol’s Place, Troy.
Most Creative: Black Friday Pizza, Thanksgiving themed pizza with roasted turkey, turkey gravy and fresh whole cranberries, Bacchus, Troy.
People’s Choice Award: Isabella pizzarella of roasted sweet potatoes and parsnips, caramelized onions, roasted garlic, shaved fennel, drizzled with balsamic and parmesan, Baba Louie’s Woodfired Organic Pizza, Hudson.
