Proietti under pressure on Episode 6. (FN image)
NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Apparently the judges' capacity for flamboyance hasn't been overwhelmd on "The Next Food Network Star."
Michael Proietti, the wild-haired executive chef at the Raddison hotel here and the lone remaining Upstate contestant still in the running for his own show, made it through another round Sunday night.
Katie Cavuto of Philadelphia was the latest competitor cut from the cast.
In Episode 6, the five remaining contestants are unexpectedly roped into working at shoebox-sized eateries in the airport en route to Miami, and when they hit Florida they are challenged to cook for a cocktail party at a hip nightclub.
NOTES ON NAPKINS: You can get a sneak preview of the episode online (after a commercial). The full episode is scheduled to air at 9 p.m. Sunday, July 14, on the Food Network.

Comments
This guy is sort of entertaining in very small doses, but I can't imagine watching an entire show of him if he wins the competition.
I sort of thought the same thing about Guy Fieri when he was competing for a show several seasons back. But I ended up loving his "Diners, Dives and Drive-Ins" show. He grows on you. Maybe Proietti could, too.
