Hey, you, Paissano. Attention, my Goombah, Billy Capra. This is right up your
alley. Joe Rombi, it may be time to move. And, let's not forget Jack O'Neal, he's really Italian, but can he cook? That's the question. And, it is also the question being asked by Fincannon & Associates, Inc., an Emmy Award Winning Casting agency.
Currently they are looking to cast Italian America and Latino American families who love to cook in a documentary styled cooking show. A quick calculation shows that the criteria covers 98.765 percent of all the restaurants in Jersey. Now, the agency is not specifically looking for restaurant families, but why not toss you sauce into the ring?
Specifically they are looking for Italian American and Latino American families interested in sharing recipes on a cooking show alongside a celebrity chef. That has to excite you, as the main personality of this project should be the Mom or Dad who enjoys cooking for his/her large, loving family. That is one of the best descriptions of the Jersey Mom and Pop restaurant I have ever heard. The family, of course, are all those people sitting in your dining room each night.
According to a spokesperson for the agency, this project will shoot in the hometown of the selected New Jersey families the week of September 14th-17th.
The central cast members in these documentary style programs will be Italian American and Latino American Moms and Dads in their 30's to 40's who have a genuine love of cooking, along with an extended family of children, grand-parents, aunts & uncles who love to gather with the family to eat. Ideally, families will include multiple generations with outgoing personalities.
The main premise of the project will be to show how cooking with the freshest ingredients and family recipes can bring relatives together. Each person in our selected family's life will be interviewed. Everyone appearing in the piece will be paid on a contract for their participation and time. Total involvement will vary, but most people will only be needed for a few hours for an on-camera interview during the shooting dates.
No acting experience is necessary; just two extended families who love to cook and enjoy food. The payment will be approximately $600.00 per day, per person. Just think about that. Get out of your kitchen and apply. That is some serious compensation. And, what Italian doesn't love to cook.
If you believe you and your family are perfect for this project, please contact the Fincannon's via e-mail at njhunts@yahoo.com or by phone at (910) 251-1500 to share your story. Ask for Shannon or Ashley when you call.
You may also officially submit your family for consideration by visiting http://fincannoncasting.com/ and filling out the survey under the "Cooking Survey" tab. Please then email the completed survey and pictures of your family to njhunts@yahoo.com.
And, who knows, come September 16 you could be a celebrity chef.
