Stunningly bad poll numbers for Obama and Democrats

And the hits just keep on coming. Pew is the bearer of good news. Take your pick. You want to see the crash and burn trajectory of the support for the Democrats? They've got that.

How about our silver-tongued president? Perhaps his hypnotic powers of persuasion are leading the masses to a Socialist utopia? Uh, not so much.

Even though the economy is still firmly wedged in the crapper, maybe people are at least optimistic (a.k.a. have some Hope) that the economy will turn around (a.k.a. Change) under the steady hand of the Politburo Democrat leadership. Actually, you'd be wrong about that too.

Although the Obama administration and some economists have touted the early signs of an economic recovery, the public is, if anything, more gloomy about the economy than it was two months ago. Ratings of the national economic situation remain dismal, with 52% saying the economy is in poor shape, and 38% saying its condition is "only fair." People's assessments of their own financial situation are less negative, but the number describing their finances as "poor" ticked up from 22% in June to 26% today.

The most notable change in economic views is the decline in the number of people who expect their financial situation to improve over the next year. The June survey found a nine-point increase in optimism since February (from 54% to 63%). In the current survey, the proportion expecting their financial situation to improve has fallen back to 55%. Much of the change since June has occurred among middle- and upper-income people.

That last part about the middle- and upper-income folks being worried about the future couldn't be because the arrogant redistributionists in Washington have painted laser targets on their backs and are set to release a massive bunker-busting tax bomb on them. Could it?

But the best and most critical part of the poll shows, as does every poll these days, that the Democrats are losing the all-important independents, without whom they are well and truly . . . hosed next year.

The decline in the Democratic Party's favorable ratings has come across party lines, but the change is especially large among independents. Only 40% of independents give a favorable rating to the Democratic Party, down 12 points since April.

Keep in mind that as good as these numbers are for the Republicans, the real numbers are even better. The poll was taken of adults; not registered voters; not likely voters. My guess is that among likelies, the Democrat Party would fare as bad as, if not worse than, they did in 1994, just before they were blown out of Washington for 12 years.

UPDATE: An alert FReeper noticed I posted the same graph twice for the Dems and left out the one for Obama. Fixed.

This is why we need to get rid of the corporate run dems and repubs. They are cancer on our society. We are constantly caught in the crossfire between these two gangs. Lets give the libertarians a try, they seem to talk a good story like sticking to the constitution and our founding fathers intent. I voted for Ron Paul, his record speaks for itself, if you look at the usual repubs and dems, trace their background, you will find CFR and corporate backgrounds. Guess who always gets the benefits, these corporations. Its time to get the power back to the people and away from these corporate whores.

The only poll that matters is the Rasmussen poll because it has a large sample size, surveys likely voters only, and it uses an automated system. The Rasmussen shows that Obama is -1 overall. And let's face it, the VOTERS are the only ones that matter.

Obama promised not to raise taxes of any kind on individuals who make less than $200k, but he raised taxes by 62 cents per pack on cigarettes. The vast majority of smokers make less than $200k. At a minimum, I'm certain Obama will raise cigarette and alcohol taxes in order to pay for his healthcare plan. And now that we've seen him lie about taxes, I'm quite sure he'll raise all kinds of taxes that will affect everyone. The man is a liar and a fake. He's a disgrace to our country and I can hardly wait to see him leave office. Don't believe a word he says, and the same is true for the Democratic leaders in Congress.
