Iranian woman shot to death on video, Obama goes for ice cream

Obama won't back the protesters because if the thugocracy crushes them, Barry will need to negotiate with the mullahs. It's getting harder and harder to justify that position when you see stuff like this. This woman was reportedly just standing with her father watching the protests when the Iranian State police gunned her down. If you would prefer to go for ice cream, like the president did this afternoon, instead of witnessing the tyranny that Obama is appeasing, I don't blame you. But then again, you are not the President of the United States.

WARNING: The woman dies before your eyes.

Video is on a Facebook account here.

H/T to Ace, who has lots more.

ok...I want to get this right. There is a serious crisis brewing, but according to you, this father of two young girls, who is also POTUS can't take the out for ice cream for an hour on a Sat afternoon. Criticize his policies, but cheap-shotting taking time with his young daughters is beneath you.

Agreed. Its a cheap shot. It was nightime in Iran for crying out loud.

So, I guess you want our President to simply put everything on hold and spend 24 hours a day in the Oval office until there are no other crises in the world? Give me a break.

What did you do today? Whatever it was, why aren't you on a flight to Iran right now to do your part to stop the violence?

maybe he was so stressed out by all the twitter feeds that he had to get some fresh air.

i was never a hilary person, but at this point i wouldn't completely mind if SHE was the one taking those 7AM phone calls about Iran.

Yeah, really. I mean when Bush was President, nobody cared he played golf or enjoyed himself...

I like how all of you ignored Obama's tacit support for the Mullahs, and went straight for the ice cream, just like your leader!

Good job exploiting one persons death for your own political gain. You should feel disgusted with yourself.

What's your point? I ate Pizza today, you did something as well, all Americans did something when this poor girl died. So what are you getting at? Mad that Obama went for some damn ice cream while she was dying? News flash - More than one person dies every second. McCain was celebrating his birthday with Bush during Hurricane Katrina. I'm amazed that the same party that didn't care if we bombed Iran, is now standing up for Iranians.

He's the friggin' POTUS. He's not a normal citizen who goes out anytime he wants to get something to eat. Everybody in the world is looking to him as an example of how engaged to be with this story. He is pathetic. He said during the campaign that "John McCain doesn't get it." Time and time again this craver for attention shows HE doesn't get it. McCain nor Hillary wouldn't be so clueless. What a joke.

Just like he did in the Illinois Senate dozens of times, BHO is voting "present" on this one. Or when the financial crisis was going on during the campaign, while McCain said he's willing to suspend his campaign for an emergency, BHO said "Call me if you need me." What a weakling.

This was horrible. But in an age where info on Iran's plight is now only seen on the "virtual streets" (aka Twitter/Facebook), even I didn't see this until about 7 hours after the literal event. Take into account the trauma of the people present in Tehran recording it, the posting through non-gov filters, etc. This woman's death has HAUNTED me. But even in this admin I support, with everything Obama has to deal with, I still expect official venues to pick this up way after I do by the nature of it's reporting.

Darn...I think I might have had ice cream since 9/11 instead of spending 100% of my time and energy personally chasing down Bin Laden. At least Bush quit snacks after his pretzel FAIL.

Mr. Dupray, whether you disagree with his approach to the issues Barack Obama is a human being, and therefore entitled to enjoy food. Even a sleazebag like you should be able to get ice cream without being mocked for the dietary splurge -- you should only be mocked for your numerous character flaws, lack of integrity, and idiocy.

Further, Obama is our President, not Iran's. Dealing with an international situation so delicate, volatile, and potentially destructive, the prudent course of action is for Obama to take the measured approach as he has been. The media, all other political leaders, and our people must speak out -- but our President must maintain a balance between stating and reinforcing our ideals, and allowing other nations to self-govern until there is no other option than to interven

I agree Aaron. But this is a classic response from the right.

He put up that inflammatory headline so a lot of people would click on his story. He gets paid by the number of page views. It's pretty sad but typical of the conservatives on this site. The guy is just a dope and has no business criticizing the president because he has no idea what he's writing about.

What a stupid, yellow journalistic cheap shot. Get yourself some attention by making it sound as if Obama's RESPONSE to this sort of death is to go celebrate. That was your drunken boy Bush who sent American troops to their deaths and went golfing.

He's a self absorbed narcissist who thinks he is king of the world, but is being made a fool of by North Korea, Hugo Chavez and the Iranians. All the while loading the country with more debt in 6 months than GW Bush did in two wars and 911. The only thing more pathetic are the Hitler Youth supporters who care too little or are ignorant of the impact of his populist policies to have a thought, let alone a second thought about what they have rent upon our country and for that matter the world.

Also, people have become tired of his "blame it on Bush" approach as a means of justifying his authoritarian government style. It's like the old business joke - a guy is hired to be the CEO of a company and finds in his desk 3 envelopes (numbered 1, 2 and 3) from his predecessor. A note on top says "open an envelope each time you encounter a crisis, in numerical order." First crisis comes - he opens the envelop and it says "blame it on your predecessor" so he does. Second crisis comes and the second note says "reorganize" so he does. Third crisis comes, he opens the last envelope and it says "prepare 3 new envelops"/

Bottom line. American's need to wake up. This is not a Republican or Democratic, Bush or Obama issue. This is American changing almost overnight to a Marxist-Socialist country without an International or Domestic compass. All that has made America great has been thrown away by spoiled, self-righteous arrogance. When ever you ask Government to take care of you, you lose Freedom. Neda died while crying for Freedom. We have Freedom, but are giving it away every day because we do not have the courage to live our lives with responsibility to the Freedoms we've been given. As such, if the majority of Americans continue to sit by idly while Obama AND Bush and the people who control them take American liberty and freedoms away, we will wake up fighting once again in the streets, just as Neda is. These cycles repeat themselves in history. We are repeating history. Yet, we are too arrogant as a people to see it. Very sad.

I agree, by the way, that using the "ice cream" story against the back drop of this incident is weak. The fact that Obama may not be reacting as we would like has to do with his political view of Iran and how his advisors are telling him to posture at this time. Although I may not agree with most of what Obama is doing or stands for, at present, the Iran situation is a very complex tinderbox. Revolution can lead to a worse reality, or a better one. At a minimum, regardless of how we feel about Obama's policy at this time, he must still remain relaxed and a leader. Taking his daughters to ice cream shows composure and ability to maintain same during crisis. It sends a signal of leadership. This is critical for the office of the POTUS. I disagree with American's criticizing the President for anything just because they disagree with his policy. Remember, respect the position. Let him earn his respect as a president. Let's focus on the majors and not be childish when so much is at stake.
