Everybody on the left will tell you it is still high at 58%. Yep, 58 and falling.
The real trouble for Obama is that he is losing the independents. Big time.

Obama's approval rating was 60% from June 13-15, at which time 88% of Democrats, 60% of independents, and 25% of Republicans approved of the job he was doing. In the June 16-18 polling, Democrats' approval of him stands at 92% -- up slightly -- whereas approval is down among both independents (by seven points) and Republicans (by four points).
That's a 7 point decline in one week among independents and 4 among Republicans. I was reluctant to post this piece because I was afraid the Democrats might see the bloodletting and start governing with some sanity and maybe hold on to Congress next year. Then I figured, nah, no chance of that.

The longer Obama does not give Americans' independents the truth and the whole truth and nothing but the truth on 9/11, anthrax and torture... the more independents he will lose. They feel cheated out of the truth by an false prophet of change. One term and we'll get someone not afraid of neoconservatives in there who wants to end this circus and tell it to us straight. Americans are tough, tell them the truth and they can handle it, trust in their courage, don't exploit their fears.
T. Ruth I might be wrong but I don't think I am when I think hes slipping in the polls because of the economy. Im not saying theres a group of people who are not very concerned with the issues you speak of.
People see that hes doing the same stuff George W did, and we are sinking like a rock.

The economy hasn't done what Obama "thought" it would have done under his suppposed stimulus package. He basically admitted that today.
Obama's is a "know nothing" president. And if Bush was brain dead then Obama must be absolutley in acoma if he thinks releasing terrorists and hiking up taxes right now is a good thing. That is whats hurting him. And I can't be happier that he is failing. He is a 1 termer. Just another Jimmy Carter.
