Conyers: Obama suffers from the 'Emanuel Factor'

You know things are getting testy over health care when the liberals decide to call out Rahm Emanuel, by name. Conyers' point obviously assumes that Obama is an empty suit, entirely under Emanuel's Rasputin mind control trick, which may, in fact be the case. But I am not sure you are supposed to mention that in polite company.

From CNS News.

When it comes to health care reform, President Barack Obama has succumbed to the “Rahm Emanuel factor," meaning he will make a deal about anything, House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers (D-Mich.) told reporters at the National Press Club on Friday. . . .

Conyers was complaining about President Obama not pursuing a "single-payer" health care system as the goal of his health-care reform efforts. This is a system that Conyers supports and that he says Obama also used to support.

“I can remember when Obama agreed with me,” said Conyers.

As for why Obama changed his mind and now supports the health-care reform proposal under consideration in the House (which would create a "public option" government-run insurance provider to compete with private insurance companies), Conyers told the reporters:

"I'm just guessing now, because we haven't talked about it, but he wants it because of the Rahm Emanuel factor. Okay. I'm glad you asked me. The Rahm Emanuel factor, to quote him, is that, look, we want success, and we're willing to make a deal about anything. Does that make you feel pretty comfortable about health care?"

Conyers seems a little naive here. First of all, Obama and Emanuel realize, unlike Conyers, that America would never knowingly agree to Socialized medicine. So their plan uses the Trojan Horse of the Public Option, which is designed to kill off private insurance, thereby leaving no option other than Socialized medicine.

But even if Conyers is right, and Obama is selling out the moonbat wing of his party, since when is it unheard of for a politician to sell out his principles to get whatever deal will pass, just to say he "reformed" something? Let's also not forget, regardless of the outcome of the health care debate, Obama isn't selling out any of his principles. He only has one principle: The accumulation of as much power as possible in himself and the government at the expense of the American people's freedom and liberty.

Any plan passed by Congress will be entirely consistent with that principle.
