Richmond Republicans will get the inside scoop on Governor Bob McDonnell’s policy agenda tonight.
Eric Finkbeiner, Gov. McDonnell’s Director of Policy, will be guest speaker at the Richmond GOP’s monthly meeting this evening.
Finkbeiner is Governor McDonnell’s point-man of the proposal to privatize the Commonwealth’s ABC liquor stores. Last year, Virginia’s alcohol sales generated $665.6 million, including $112 million in profits and $210 million in taxes. The Governor has said that 100 percent of the ABC privatization will go towards his plan for the transportation maintenance that could not be addressed in the past year due to other issues.
Finkbeiner is an attorney who has previously served both the Wilder and Allen administrations prior to joining McGuireWoods. He served as a policy adviser to Governor Allen on public safety and transportation issues and also served as his Executive Director for the Governor’s Commission on Parole Abolition and Sentencing Reform. In the Wilder administration, Finkbeiner served as Director of Public Affairs for the Department of Criminal Justice Services then as Communications Director for the Governor’s Task Force on Violent Crime.
The meeting will be held at 6:30pm at Legend’s Brewery, just south of the James River at 321 W.7th Street.
