Thousands of Americans are turning out in droves to see Sarah Palin's ‘Going Rogue’ Rule Book.
This is in despite of The Rules.
In all fairness to Governor Palin these are Barnes and Nobles’ Rules. Interpret as you wish and I’d love further comment and discussion as Ms. Palin will be back at The Villages in central Florida today following on the coattails of Glenn Beck who drew over 30,000 Saturday afternoon. Rules to have a book signed by Sarah Palin:
Barnes and Nobles says, "We are expecting a very large crowd for this book signing, and in order to accommodate as many people as possible, we ask that you note the following:"
- Line passes/wristbands will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis.
- You must be present in order to get a line pass/wristband.
- You must present your ORIGINAL Barnes & Nobel or bn.com receipt for "Going Rogue" in order to get a linepass/wristband. (This means you cannot be a cheapskate like me who bought mine from Walmart at half the price.)
- One line pass/wristband will be issued per person. * A maximum of two copies of "Going Rogue" will be signed per person.
- No memorabilia will be signed -- only the book, "Going Rogue." (Shame as I had some McCain/Palin posters and some Wasilla coffee cups I wanted signed).
- Please make sure a parent or guardian accompanies all minors.
- No posed photos or personalization of books. (This was as Tina Fey says in 30Rock a "Deal Breake"r for me)
- No bags will be allowed through the signing line. (What?)
- Cellphones and cameras will have to be turned off and put away before customers approach the signing table. (Enough said.)
- A line pass/wristband does not guarantee a signed book or entrance to the event. We will do our best to get as many people through the line as possible.
- Customers with line passes/wristband who leave the line for an extended period of time will have to rejoin it the line at its end, wherever that may be. (This will be tough for the old folk down in The Villages with weak bladders and other medical problems).
Despite the Rules, Palin’s book ‘Going Rogue’ is to term a cliché a ‘runaway bestseller’. Over 300,000 sold on the first official day despite already being top of the best seller lists due to pre-buying on websites such as amazon.com and Barnes and Nobels’. This beats Hillary Clinton's and is just under Bill's in terms of numbers.
Palin is literally ‘going rogue’ despite The Rules.
