Officer threatened to arrest Obama protester for sign: 'It ain't [America] no more'

Officer Wesley Cheeks, Jr. didn't agree with a sign a protester carried at Jim Moran's town hall in Reston, VA last week.  Cheeks told the protester he would charge him with trespassing (of all things) if he didn't take down the sign because it had a picture on it.

When the protester questioned the officer, Cheeks responded, "If I told you once to take it down and you put it back up then I can charge you with whatever I want to charge you with."

The protester didn't back down, saying,  "This is America.  This used to be America."

Officer Cheeks apparently didn't like what the protester had to say either.  His response: "It ain't no more, OK?"

More despicable acts from Moran's town hall.

The man carrying the sign was Bob Parks - a Black American conservative.

Of course, if this is what happened I agree that it was wrong but you didn't seem to have a problem with protesters being arrested for having T-shirts that had King George (your republican god)with a line through it. Please, be consistent when calling something wrong, wrong not just when it suits your former Republican party of Tea Baggers and Nativists.

The number to call to express your feelings on this-to his employer: 571-423-1200
Hopefully, if enough people call in and express their outrage on this matter-they'll treat this with the seriousness that it warrants.

Heather: 1. was anyone like, actually arrested? thrown out of a meeting?
    2. how do you feel about the fact that the sign in question compared the President of the United States to Hitler and health care reform to the Final Solution? Don't you agree that this was disgusting? As a matter of fact, why did you decide not to mention the content of the sign in your original post?

Laws are not the same for the right and left. Democrats are allowed to get away with anything they want. They are allowed to break laws such as when Acorn members broke into an empty home and claim it for themselves. When a Republican asks questions or proposes an opposite opinion they are called rascist. They will be threatened with arrest for standing up for the constitution.
Don't take it anymore America.... Stand up for what you believe! Take America back from the corrupt government, both Republicans and Democrat politicians do not care about your interests, they only want the power we are allowing them to steal from WE THE PEOPLE!
I have my poster of G.W Bush with his Hitler moustache right next to my Obama and his hitler moustache poster hanging right next to eachother on my wall... Come and get em! ;-)

Concerning what has already been written:

Those who were supposedly arrested for having a shirt of Bush with a line through it: it may have been because of behavior that they engaged in while they wore those shirts or it may have been seen as a threat.

One major difference between then & now, is that the Obama Joker Posters and so on (& there were Bush Joker Posters and so on) are called racist, when that stuff on Bush wasn't called that.

The MSM and Liberals constantly race-bait when people critize Obama or poke of him. Now the race-baiters say that the word Socialism is "racist." <rolleyes>.

The word "teabagger" is a homocentric, homophobic, anti-gay slur.

One sign that says "Final Solution" on it, compared to the hundreds if not thousands of sign/posters/shirts worn by liberals that depicted Bush as Hitler, a Nazi, etc. Effigies of Bush were hung and burned in public in America, yet one here complains about the Nation Solution sign. Puhleeze.

    1. the post below by "Rob" is objectively racist.
    2. I am happy to say that is is just as reprehensible to compare President Bush to Hitler as it is to compare President Obama to Hitler and his policies to those of the Third Reich. Anyone who indulges in such irresponsible language is outside the bounds of responsible democratic discourse. Anyone out there disagree?

WOW... The GOP really has some squirrels writing articles for these examiners. No wonder they don't want healthcare programs, someone may put them in mental institution for good, and they would not be able to preach their simplistic views.Heather Hog has spent to much time in the Arizona sun, apparently it has fried her brain!

David, are you serious. Lol. Do you have a link? If so, talk about the egg on the face of the liberal idiots who presumed it was "the big old conservative man" oppressing the poor minority democratic supporter.

p.s. for the record, I think the U.S. would be better off if the hypocritical, generalizing, overreacting idealogues on both sides would dissapear. Please kill yourselves as quick as possible - drug overdose or suicide on the demoluncrat side; cancer on the repugnican side

Come one all DEM'ers, let's keep engaging in baseless and nasty personal attacks against Heather and other "GOP'ers." It's real mature when we engage in name-calling and personal attacks.

It does bolsters our message when we engage in nasty personal attacks instead of responding to what Officer Cheeks said when he said that he could charge the protestor with whatever he wanted to.

Indeed, we need to continue to try and use diversions and distractions by personally attacking people. It is very important for all DEM'ers to do just that!!!

    2. No one has answered the questions I posed in my original post (4th from the bottom). Care to answer them?

The liberals let the truth slip out sometimes by accident, they call all those that oppose Obamacare Nativists because about half of the uninsured his plan will cover are illegal aliens. They are going to pull the plug on your 80 year old grand mother so Pedro can get stitches and a bandage when he cuts himself illegally crossing the border. They deny it but in the 40 some odd million they claim do not have insurance and need this bill, over 20 million of that number are illegal aliens.

    Nyp,
I couldn't care less what Rob thinks, or who he listens to. That is his choice.

    2) As far as illustrating the parallels between proposed legislation and historical legislation passed into law by National Socialists. Well, I think that a spade should be called a spade. I do find it odd that people who called Bush a Nazi fully support National Socialist policies and legislation. The core ideology in the 1930's and 40's is what we are seeing once again today here in the U.S. The racial scapegoating is what is missing.

To "Greg": So you too are willing to call the President of the Unites States not only a Nazi but a racist as well. That is disgusting, demeaning to the English language, and removes you from civil discourse. You guys have become completely unhinged about the moderate policies of a moderate President.
