Due to the financial crisis, Arizona legislators are considering selling the House and Senate buildings, along with dozens of other state owned properties, in the hopes of bringing in cash.
The plan is to sell the properties and then lease them back over an extended period of time before resuming ownership again, allowing government services to continue uninterrupted.
Capitol projections show that the state could receive some $735 million for the transactions and could go into effect in as little as 90 days once deals are approved.
