Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck have stuck their foots in their mouths recently
The Republican Party lately is being handed on a silver platter, the opportunity to gain control of the message in Washington and possibly win back seats next November. Certain prominent conservatives happen to be hurting the party by making outrageous comments. The past few days, all I have heard on the news is how Obama is taking a vacation and how he shouldn’t be doing so with the healthcare reform going on. I am not one to defend President Obama, but give him a break. The president of the United States is allowed to take a vacation, it is a stressful job. And I didn’t hear my fellow people on the right complain about President Bush taking 39 vacations a year or whatever it was, so lay off Obama for taking a breather.
Over the past few weeks, as the public outrage against the Democratic healthcare efforts grew in intensity, so did the rhetoric on the right. Glenn Beck, who I happen to be a fan of, said two particular comments that he should apologize for. The first is he called President Obama a “racist” and said he “has a deep seated hatred of white people.” The second is he joked on air about poisoning Nancy Pelosi’s wine. Now, I do not believe President Obama is a racist nor has deep seated hatred of white people. I strongly disagree with his policies, but that type of language has no place in a political debate and Mr. Beck owes Obama an apology for that. I also do not like Nancy Pelosi at all, but joking about poisoning her is in just bad taste. Beck should be feeling the heat from this because over a dozen sponsors have pulled their ads from his shows. An apology can just put everything behind Beck. Rush Limbaugh, who is no stranger to controversy, also compared Obama to Hitler, which he should apologize for.
Hateful rhetoric has no business in a political debate. This goes for both sides of the aisle. I call out conservatives that say something out of line, and Democrats that do the same. We should be debating the facts of policies and ideas, not insulting public officials. President Obama is attempting to enact a radical sweeping agenda. Conservatives need to take on the policies, not defend attacks made my media personalities. It serves as a distraction and ends up hurting the cause. This goes hand in hand with the Birthers and Sarah Palin’s “death panel” comments. Focus on the policy and the politics, not the person, because there is more than enough to criticize and disagree on.

Mr. Mcmahon's article makes many valid points, and as usual, a couple of prigish morons decide to comment on it, letting the whole world know just how ignorant they really are. I just don't understand why people cannot handle the truth. Obama is a proven racist and both these men are unafraid of the liberal media criticizing them.
