Democrats in total disarray on Obama's health care reform plan

The latest indication that the Democrats' plan to nationalize health care is in serious trouble is the spurious charge levelled by Senate Democrats yesterday that somehow the media fabricated the three-week-for-completion deadline for passing health care reform.

From The Hill:

Senate Democratic leaders on Thursday blamed Capitol Hill media for setting an August deadline for health reform and Republicans for blocking the bill's progress.

Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), Democratic Conference Vice Chairman Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Conference Secretary Patty Murray (D-Wash.) also acknowledged that critics will "pour it on" during the coming August recess and they plan to respond in kind.

Reid said reporters created a fictitious deadline of a successful vote by the August recess, and downplayed the fact that the chamber won’t meet that mark.
“That is a deadline that you created,” Reid told a group of about 75 reporters. “It’s not like we don’t have a product. Significant progress has been made … The mere fact that this wasn't done by last Friday or by five o’clock doesn't mean we’re not going to get a quality product."

Of course the charge that it was the media who set the pre-August recess deadline is preposterous. It was President Obama, who, until recently insisted that revamping 1/6 of the nation's economy be accomplished in three weeks time. His decision was fully supported by Reid and other Democrats who tried to ram Obama's health care plan through with the same alacrity with which the disastrous stimulus bill was enacted.

Not to be outdone in the hysteria department, as Democrats' plan for foisting socialized medicine on the country implodes, Nancy Pelosi has decided to embark upon a Jihad against insurance companies in a vain effort to help stop the hemorrhaging for Obama's health care reform plan.

As confirmed by recent polling data, Obama's pitch that the country's existing health care system is in need of radical alteration has fallen upon deaf ears. The more people learn of the details of Obama's plan, the less they like it.

After the stimulus and cap and trade fiascos, with his health care proposal, Obama has come to the well for a third time, and insists that the bill be passed with the same alacrity as the stimulus. Yet due to his squandered credibility, it should come as no surprise, that no one is buying the health care plan that he and his fellow Democrats are selling.

As evidenced by some angry Town Hall meetings on the health care reform plan, there is a palpable anger brewing among voters. When Congress leaves for the August recess, many members will be getting an earful from their constituents who have no desire to explode our current health care system in favor of Obamacare which will be run by the same people who run Amtrak, the Post Office and have exhibited such dereliction in disbursing stimulus funds to all those “shovel ready” projects in a timely manner.
