BALTIMORE, Md. – Yesterday was Opening Day for the Baltimore Orioles as they beat the New York Yankees 10-5 at Camden Yards. Before the game, a special guest was on hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch; Vice President Joe Biden.

Biden took the mound and threw the first pitch high and outside to Orioles catcher Chad Moeller. Biden is the only sitting Vice President to throw out a first pitch for the Orioles.

In high school, Biden played baseball for Archmere Academy in Claymont, Delaware.

Four former Presidents have also thrown out a ceremonial first pitch for the Baltimore Orioles; Jimmy Carter (1979), Ronald Reagan (1984, 1986), George H.W. Bush (1989, 1992), and Bill Clinton (1993, 1996).
