Direct from the PCBC website:
“This year's theme is “The Beginning of Next”, and PCBC has once again retooled itself to offer a family of conferences designed to engage and educate building industry leaders on what’s next for the industry, said Linda Baysari, the Show’s Senior Vice President for Conventions and Meetings.
“As we climb out of this recession and turn our attention toward recovery, we wanted to focus on what the industry will now be facing in terms of changing demographics, changing perspectives, and a changing marketplace,” said Baysari. “PCBC has a well-deserved reputation for being an innovative and thought-provoking tradeshow, and we plan on delivering on those aspects again this year.””
The Education Forums
The highlights for this year’s show include: the Capital Markets Forum and the informative Multifamily Trends Conference, which was developed in partnership with Marcus and Millichap. New this year are the Consumer Insights Forum, the Innovation Strategy Forum and the 50+ Housing Forum, in addition to groups of other workshops scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Perhaps most interesting to Bay Area "for sale" and rental housing providers will be the Multifamily Trends Conference. The conference will cover the economy, capital markets, multifamily investment, development trends as well as macro- and regional-market conditions with special emphasis on the western metros. Nowhere else can you cover the breadth and depth of essential multifamily issues and information covered in this one-day PCBC forum.
The Exhibit Floor
Beyond the forum classroom on the Exhibit Floor visitors will find that the traditional tradeshow experience has been redefined. This year the Exhibit Floor is full of timely educational opportunities. The 2010 Green Standards Pavilion has been redesigned and has become the Green Pavilion. The pavilion showcases solutions for green building challenges. The new and timely Renewable Energy Pavilion offers guests a look at alternative methods in the production, storage, monitoring and use of non-traditional alternative energy sources.
Concerned about water and energy conservation? The Outdoor Living Showcase is a dramatic new exhibit floor highlighting the products, designs, and installations that advance water and energy conservation, while promoting sustainable lifestyles. For building techies, the most exciting new floor feature will be the Home of Innovation, which showcases next-generation smart products and integrated systems while exploring connected technologies in the home. And as always, the Show floor features the products and services of hundreds of the real estate and building industries most interesting and leading suppliers.
Whether you are looking for the best-practice solution to a specific building problem or merely want to stay on top of available building products and real estate ideas, the PCBC is must attend event.
