SCORE (Savannah Chatham Off Road Racing Enthusiasts Score-racing.com) continues to grow and prosper in 2009. Club President Jason Brown and the dedicated crew spent over $2000.00 and many hours preparing for the Georgia Championship Series (GCS) second visit this year. The race track was perfect for the Georgia Championship Series Round 9! The new rc track design included new jumps, hard pipes, and the very 1st signs of track elevation changes. With the R/C Pro Series East Division visiting in a few short weeks, SCORE is ready for the best drivers in the South East.

Pro Buggy – “Heavy-Hitters” from across Georgia were in attendance for the race. Team Losi Racing Travis Dupree was the Top qualifier and completely runs away from the field at the start! Team Associated driver Brandon Melton battled with Kyosho USA Team Driver Travis Phillips for most of the race, eventually grabbing and holding on to the #2 spot. While Travis Phillips settled for a third place podium finish. Kevin Bullock drove the pipes of his Team Xray XB808 buggy in a deep field of talent to take a respectable 4th place finish. Intermediate Buggy – Hometown kid Mitchell Burkey shows his skills at the local club track and battles with motocross legend Larry “Big Bird” Ward for the #1 position. Burkey reminded Larry Ward why he needs more practice on the R/C track, showing the motocross legend how it’s done. Larry Ward flexed is racing dna and put strong consistent pressure on Burkey the entire A-Main. Matt Allen finishing 3rd and Charles Yates rounding out the top 4.
SLASH Spec Class – This the class that brought electric racing back to the rc track! Joel “Stickman” Judkins takes his Stickman R/C powered Traxxas SLASH into victory lane after an intense fender banging battle. Eric Madden who also drives in the 1/8 nitro buggy class with an electric brushless buggy set-up gave chase and battled with Judkins, Chat Howard and Travis Melton all taking turns in the #1 spot. It was the battery builder and Stickman R/C founder Joel Judkins who claimed the top spot pushing Eric Madden into a very close 2nd. Chat Howard settled for 3rd with Travis Melton rounding out the top 4!
