"Selling your soul to the devil."
It's a flippant and overused response often uttered by some legalistic sow. You know the type? No T.V., no entertainment, no source of upward mobility.
The only response for these bitter folk outside of "You're going to hell" is "And take a toothbrush."
Just how does that happen anyway?
Is Ol' Slewfoot hanging behind a dimly lit convenience store parking lot with a tethered trenchcoat full of surprises - stolen watches, nudie pictures and a medley of lost souls?
"Yours. Five for $20. I'll even give you this one for grins. It belongs to a juiced-up baseball player."
Evidently, whatever nasty place the Prince of Darkness calls "work", Pat Robertson has been there one too many times. In fact, he has even believed some of the urban legends spray painted on the trash bins next to "For a good time, call..."
You'll see in this so Christ-like video:
The earthquake that caused it all
Reports are more than 100,000 dead. Almost 500,000 are injured or homeless. The nation is poverty stricken. The people are lost. The land is in ruins. And this fool thinks now is the perfect time to offer up, "The devil made Mother Nature do it."
What?!
The Bible is bountiful with scriptures expressing mercy, grace, peace and help. Not to mention, a miracle sprinkled in there every once in a while.
But Pat Robertson thought in his munificent wisdom to show his mean mug and pull out the "Fire and Brimstone" speech from decades past. Keep it classy, Patty Boy.
The White House has called him, "Stupid." Al Sharpton called him, "Un-Christian." The national media is wearing out his doorstep at CBN. And we all know this isn't the first time he has opened up his gullet and a plague of flies came out.
Yet, this is supposed to be a man of God, and the reason why I have heard at least a dozen times, "That guy is a Christian?! You're not like that. You think God wanted that said?"
Answer: Oh H-E-Double-Hockeysticks-NO!
There is an adage that has been extolled in pulpits for years, "You can be so heavenly minded that you are no earthly good." Pat, in the words of Linda Ronstadt, "You're no good."
Sure, the Lord loves you but his people don't like you. At all. At least, not right now.
I know history students in high school - not to mention seminarians nationwide - who could see the fallacy in your statement. This was a rumor in 1791 shortly before the Haitian Independence War. Get that, 1791! I'm certain the rumor mill wasn't the well-oiled flux capacitor it is now.
Who am I to argue with what your cracked interns found on Wikipedia. Meh?
I'm sure you screwed up a ton last month. Does that mean you are going to break your hip and fall into a river? No. And why? It's called grace, amazing grace and you showed none of it. For that, you should be ashamed.
Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation). Ephesians 2:5 AMP
Pat Robertson, I don't know what drivel you are selling these days, but I'm willing to bet your copious paycheck that folk are not buying any of it. Then again, I used to know a guy who may be interested.

What he did was make all Christians look bad. What he usually does is that. When will he learn? I pray for the people in Haiti regardless of who their god is, or is not. Nice job, Shawn Paul.
Excuse me
That is a photo-edited picture.I can tell. Shawn Paul you ought to be ashamed of yourself.
@David - Thanks for the love.
@Karen - You would be surprised, but I was told by more than one source that was just an appendage mishap, but it went to the point of his terrible misuse of his authority. So, no shame to be had. If I was duped, I'll gladly erase it but the thoughts ring true. What he did may be accurate, but not at all relevant.
Dear Pat Robertson,
To start off, Im not going to bad mouth you for your actions. However I would like to address the fact that some of the things you say hurt the witness of others, because what some of the things you say make your fellow Christians look unloving. I would like to bring to your attention that whether anyone likes it or not, you are a face of Christ, just as any other Christian, but the difference between you is that you have a media outlet. Things you have said on Katrina, homosexuality, Haiti, and other things hurt people, I know this because they have hurt me, and if it weren't for truly loving Christians reaching out to me, I would not have Christ in my life.
Joseph
Shawn, thank you for trying to keep your brother accountable, with no less candor than to be expected. Well done.
Yah, Pat can get a bit off center and turn people away but here's where the game changes.
The two topics most people immediately turn away from in any conversation is religion and politics. Why? Because people do not fully understand either to much of a degree and do not choose to study so they can't discuss maturely. Both usually turn into an arguement or even a fight because of lack of knowledge and understanding.
In Matthew chapter 28, Jesus assigns work for me, you and everyone else on this planet who declares themselves a Christian and follower of Him. "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you".
Hello fellow Christians! How many of you are doing his work instead of getting all bent out of shape at what Pat said?
As soon as God's word is spread throughout this planet to all, this game then ends, Jesus returns!
@Mike - So true, but in the meantime, we need to help those who may find reason in Robertson's words to give up on Christ. There are more folk looking for a reason NOT to believe in Jesus than those who want one. People like us need to do both. Hopefully, by the time Jesus returns, we'll have done some damage to any "satanic pact." Amen?
@Joseph - Nice brother. Appreciate the comment and visit. How's my hair? ;)
LOL, nice picture of Patty boy! I wish he could see that he's doing more harm than good! You nailed it. Thanks for the article bro.
