Last week, Monday through Friday, conservative commentator Glenn Beck did a series of compelling programs in his Fox News 5:00 P.M. timeslot exploring the background(s) of President Obama’s special advisors, the so-called "Czars."
Practically every president in American history has had their own admonitors, so this is in no way alarming in and of itself. Incidentally, the majority of Americans don’t realize the notion is based on the Judeo-Christian principle of wisdom in the counsel of many from various Bible passages but especially Proverbs 15:22.
Much of our system of government in fact is based either directly upon the Scripture, or at least on principled understanding of it, as was argued in a previous column, but that’s a debate for another time. All things considered it’s not a bad thing that the Barack Obama has advisers and there isn’t, or at least shouldn’t be, any issue taken to it. Counselors are of particular import to a man with the meager experience and qualifications brought to the executive branch by its current head.
The concern that Mr. Beck has expressed is primarily based on the brand of counsel the czars have given and will continue to give the President of the United States, ostensibly the most powerful man in the world. Love Glenn or hate him, one cannot honestly believe exploring the backgrounds and philosophies of people bending Obama’s ear is unreasonable or imprudent. Of course as soon as one dare to ask the kinds of questions suggested during this series, those with radical left wing axes to grind pull the race card from the deck with such lightning speed as
to produce a near fatal paper cut.
Take for instance African-American Congresswoman Diane Watson who grossly embellished comments of another conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh by saying, "they’re trying to see that the first president who ‘looks like me’ fails." What Limbaugh's commentary was actually referring to was his hope that the absorption of as much of the private sector by the US government..., from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care, i.e. Obama’s plans and politics would fail, and of course by association Obama’s presidency. However, the Congresswoman, for her own questionable reasons, introduced race in an utterly arbitrary fashion. Not surprisingly Watson also went on to laud Fidel Castro’s government run healthcare system, the Cuban revolution that kicked out the wealthy, and the man himself as "one of the brightest leaders I have ever met."
Pardon the momentary tangent. These ideologies are so interconnected it’s often difficult not to wander into related stories. So what then can be concluded based upon a preponderance of the evidence Glenn Beck shared with his viewers during "Czar Week"? Well, we learned from his own admissions that Obama’s "Green Jobs" czar is a self-proclaimed radical, communist, Marxist-Maoist style ideologue, and black nationalist
and that no evidence to repudiate Van Jones’ self description has been produced, let alone directly addressed by this White House.
Therefore, it is reasonable to surmise Jones still holds the same views. Also, as we examined previously, a group co-founded by this man (Color of Change) is behind a massive effort to drive Beck from the airwaves by boycotting his sponsors, or at least threatening a boycott under the guise that Glenn is a racist. Oh, just for fun in his spare time, Jones co-founded another radical group called "The Apollo Alliance" that according to Senator Harry Reid was instrumental in writing the stimulus package. This group was also co-founded by Jeffrey Jones who in turn was associate and co-founder with another domestic terrorist, William Ayers of "Weather Underground" infamy, who is credited with helping launch Barack Obama’s political career.
It should be easy to see by now how easily one can be distracted, the web of radicals about the President being so relatively vast yet nebulous.
Then we learned that "FCC ‘Diversity’ Czar" Mark Lloyd is a disciple of socialist Saul Alinsky and he thinks the coup that put America hating Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez in power was an incredible, democratic revolution. Of his "diverse" views regarding FCC policy he is quoted, "It should be clear by now that my focus here is not freedom of speech or the press. . . . This freedom is all too often an exaggeration. . . . At the very least, blind references to freedom of speech or the press serve as a distraction from the critical examination of other communications policies." How astonishing is this contradiction to one of America’s most basic freedoms, "speech," as guaranteed to the populace by the First Amendment?
And we learned that Obama’s "‘Science’ Czar" John Holdren believes since there is no specific Constitutional provision guaranteeing individuals a certain number of children, forced abortions and sterilizations are a viable option regarding population control. Yes, Mr. Holdren, that would do the trick alright!
This is a cursory look as just a few of the 32 czars Obama has spoon-feeding him advice on national and international policy. It should be every concerned American’s desire to vet these people who are clearly NOT being vetted by the White House. Mr. Beck could not have been more euphemistic when he said on another Fox News show, "the president is NOT surrounded by moderates."
In the background of all the facts about the president’s counselors, it would be easy to overlook some greater issues. Chief amongst them is the appearance that the current administration, more than ANY other in history, does NOT see itself as accountable to the American people. Obama constantly postured himself as an overall moderate throughout his campaign. It certainly didn’t take long for his true colors to shine through. The color of "Change" and the color of fundamentally transforming America appear to be the most radiant of those shades. Perhaps someone should have a raised a hand during the election and asked, "Mr. Obama, what do you mean when you say "fundamentally transforming America?’" "Transforming it into...what,"? Is the question we’re now dealing with. Well hindsight is 20-20 and all that yes?
Out of the valuable information shared by Mr. Beck in this series quite possibly the most important utterance he made was: "Good Americans need to stand up and demand to know what’s going on." Truer words could not be spoken...
Until next time...

Bravo, I couldn't havesaid it better myself.
The American people have been soft too long. Every Communist official must be disposed of. All Communist deputies must be disposed of this very night. All friends of the Communists must be locked up. And that goes for the Social Democrats as well!
Help us show our numbers by saying you agree!
Glenn Beck 2012
Obama the great uniter, the post racial president, has divided this nation more than I can remember in my fifty years. I hate the socialist, racist bastard and am getting sick and tired of all the black people jumping up and down crying raaaaacist! I have never been politically active...but I am now!
NOBAMA!
Excellent article! I am going to forward this to as many people as I can, although I'm sure a few of them won't be too happy. Thank you for including the links at the bottom as I believe other articles such as yours can only help to inform people of what is really going on in Washington. It's time for the American people to stand up and take our country back. More than ever, I believe we are at the edge of a cliff looking down and hoping we don't fall. We need to stop the "falling" and get grounded so that this wonderful country can be saved. God Bless America.
1. uh, is there anything illegal in any of these appointments?
2. haven't many of these people been confirmed by the U.S. Senate? How, precisely, are they "czars"?
A reader privately brought to my attention a concern about the spelling of the word "adviser" and how I had used an "e" in the headline then an "o" in the body. They are both grammatically acceptable and hey, I like variety. Very astute observation though. I love how my readers truly pay attention to detail! You're all so bright, even those who don't agree with me.

nyp says: 1. uh, is there anything illegal in any of these appointments?
2. haven't many of these people been confirmed by the U.S. Senate? How, precisely, are they "czars"?
No, the appointments, I believe, are not illegal. And, no, they haven't been confirmed. They were handpicked by Obama to advise him on specific policies. The problem is that some of these individuals are admitted communists and the groups they belong to are very questionable in their purpose. If you're not familiar with Glenn Beck and what he has been saying, go to his website at www.glennbeck.com. Read up and get informed. You're not going to hear any of this on MSNBC or CNN for sure. The links at the bottom of this article are a good place to start also. I believe that if more people were informed about what is going on in this presidency, there would be even more of an uproar than what is happening with the healthcare issue.
Keith, we'll forgive you. Just keep on writing articles like this and you can make as many grammatical "errors" as you want!
nyp,
I clearly wrote that, "Counselors are of particular import to a man with the meager experience and qualifications brought to the executive branch by its current head." So no, as far as I'm concerned there is no issue of legality nor was one proffered. One that was referred to as a Czar by Mr. Beck was in fact a Senate confirmed individual, I can't recall right off which it was, but it's beside the point of the shady un-Amercian philosophical postions these advisers adhere to. Beck corrected himself on this point during his broadcast on Friday the 28th. Thanks for reading/commenting

ILG0729,
Thanks for reading and for your input. You gave me a good laugh with the "make as many grammatical errors as you want" comment. I will do what I can to keep publishing the truth as I understand it. And thank you for your enthusiasm and promotion. I believe these matters are signficant enough that all views should be considered and the mainstream media is not very dedicated to presenting more than one perspective. In my opinion.

Keith or anyone else-
Do you know who agrees with my post? Take some guesses.
Zack, I give up. Who?
Do you?
Ok Zack, we're dying of suspense here.
I have to say that I would stop short of "locking" anyone "up" based on their political views, but then I presumed you were intentionally using exaggerated language (i.e. hyperbole) to demonstrate your passion for the topic. So I will echo the sentiment, "I give up, who"?

My Barrett 82A1! The revolution is coming! We have to stand up now and show them our numbers!
Who is with me?
No more communists. No more social Dems.
Who is with me?
What I believe is that these people need to be taken out of power - that probably wouldn't leave too many left! I do believe that they should all be locked up and the key thrown away. Really. Let them get a taste of what their policies would do to the American people. That's the only way we're going to get our country back. Alas, I know in reality that's only a dream. However, I think a revolution is brewing, finally. They definitely need to be removed as I believe that is the only way we are going to save America. I would love to see Glenn run in 2012 but I doubt that's going to happen or that the American people would be informed enough to choose to vote for him.
Gee Zack that would probably have been the last guess I'd make. Remember sir like "karate," guns are for "defense only". Be well and stay calm. Everything's going to be alright WAY before violence ever rears its ugly head. As a writer I must ascribe to the adage "the pen is mightier than the sword" - Edward Bulwer-Lytton...

Defense from Commies and Social Dems!
I have to defend my taxes and my Constitutional Rights!
Keith, yes it is my passion of the topic. However, I do think the American people are waking up and that's a very good thing. The Sept. 12th March on Washington should be very interesting.
Zack, I don't own a gun but have been thinking of getting one. More because I'm afraid of what they will try to do to the Second Amendment. If I do get one, I hope I would never have to use it.
See! I am not the only one who knows Obama is a Nazi! We have to get rid of commies and social dems!!
Alrighty then.... Signing off. Work to do....
See! I am not the only one who knows Obama is a Nazi! We have to get rid of commies and social dems!!
Friends,
I believe we all have the right to freely express our deepest beliefs and that right is a sacred one. At the same time I cannot and will not abide posts that appear to genuinely encourage violence nor foster racial animosity. My article calls out folks who are in my opinion "race baiters", but as people of integrity we cannot sink to the same level and use epithets or racially inflammatory rhetoric. I removed one post that incorporated both "shoot Democrats" and "White Power" for these reasons. Not to silence a zealot, but to maintain a degree of decorum. If that costs me any readers, then so be it. I suspect that the individual was infiltrating for less than sincere reasons, but thats only a guess. In any case, these are serious issues and we ought to deal with them soberly and logically. Thanks again one and all for sharing your views and I trust you will respect me being up front about this...

IMHO, this was by far the most UN-informed electorate in the history of presidential elections. In my own UN-scientific questioning of voters, I found nary a Obama supporter who could come up with one solid reason for voting for him. His performance so far, I believe, provides even further evidence that he was, at best, a poor choice,
What frightens me the most is that no matter how bad he does in his first term and not matter how much imperical evidence there is to back that poor performance up, it will be the same uninformed and under-educated electorate that puts him in for a second term. I pray that I'm wrong, but time will tell.
by the way, I strongly protest your censoring posts by your commentators. It is important that the true character of the conservative opposition to the Obama Administration be freely expressed and displayed.
well keith-
This is the kind of rhetoric that is being passed down to people who own guns. My post was a quote from Hitler and being that several people seemingly stood beside me in that quote goes to show you what scaring people with weapons can lead to. Glenn Beck is baiting these people BIG TIME and I think instead of using bogus hearsay, we actually find real facts and use them to further our knowledge and understanding. One thing in one of my posts that I believe is that if this kind of militia talk continues, you are going to see a bloody revolution for no real reason other than some white folks were afraid that a black man was evil.
My uncle went to college and his first roommate (before meeting him) seriously believed that jews had horns. Glenn Beck is tapping the same ill-informed people and falsely cramming their backs against a wall. Stick a gun in their hand and see what happens next.
In point of fact, a large number of the individuals on these lists of evil "czars" were nominated and confirmed by the Senate. The majority of the remainder are in positions created by many previous administrations, especially that of GW Bush. Do you believe, for example, that Bush's Director of Faith-Based initiatives was a "czar"? Then why would there by anything wrong in President Obama appointing a replacement for the same position?
2. By the way, since you are confortable attributing to John Holdren today views that he expressed in the early 1970s, I wonder if you are also willing to attribute to the Republican Nominee for Governor the views he expressed concerning working women, the right to use birth control and homosexuality in 1989?
sorry - one other question for you: do you agree with Mr. Beck that the President of the United States has a 'deep-seated hostility towards white people'?
nyp,
I stand by my decision to delete the one post that I did and I shall not be deterred. Anyone is welcome until they cross the line. This is not the Huffington Post. Reasonable rules of civility shall be observed here. I allow any and everything up to a point. For all I know it was a liberal seeking to infiltrate and subvert. As for you other arguments, I digress...

Zack,
The line I draw is further back than yours but you're cool. I simply won't allow "shoot Democrats", "White Power" and the like. It undermines the cause of reclaiming the country from radicals. I know practically nothing about you but I think you're above that sort of thing anyway my friend, in spite of your obviously passionate beliefs. Okay?

Jeff in PA,
Well put sir. I think you're concerns are valid, yet I'm hopeful and really rather optimistic. In the lower slower Delaware district I live in we had a special election due to the death of the incumbent Democratic state senator here in the beginning of August. The guy had held his office like - forever. Running for the Democrats was the decedent's daughter who was also very well known. The election was won by a fairly obscure Republican. Big deal? Well, I think it's a microcosm of what is to come in more substantial elections. I care more about sound principles than party, but it'd be an extremely rare case where I would EVER vote Democrat!

nyp,
Beck said deep seated "hatred", not "hostility". One, I already addressed the context of those comments in a previous Glenn Beck article. If you're interested enough to know what I think, go back and read it because I can't possibly rehearse it here again. Two, no I do not believe that sufficient evidence exists to support that claim, even if that were the sum and substance of the argument, which it isn't. Obama's comments are hardly exculpatory in the matter. At least that's what this "TYPICAL WHITE PERSON" THINKS!! Maybe I should fly out to Chicago and sit in a pew at Trinity UCC to learn the type of racial tolerance preferred by Obama supporters? Thanks for reading, but again, I digress...

Thank you, Keith Wimer, for pointing out Glenn Beck's warnings, which are right on target.
When Obama was running for President, those of us who have suffered because of Castro, Chavez, and the rest of the Marxist thugs who are destroying Latin America recognized Obama's kinship with them.
Obama's campaign strategy -- based on lies, manipulation, intimidation and fraud, with overwhelming support from a corrupt media -- was almost identical to the strategies of the Marxist thugs. Even his slogans (CHANGE and YES CAN) were the same.
However, many of us believed Americans were too smart to be fooled as the most ignorant Venezuelans, Bolivians, Ecuadorians had been fooled. We were wrong. Many Americans had been dumbed down to the point that they were fooled with fairy tale promises of CHANGE to help to poor, to end corruption to make everything better.
Fortunately, not all Americans have been dumbed down, as we can see in the town halls! Most Americans prefer to be FREE.
One other thing nyp,
The comments from John Holdren were from a ecology textbook printed in 1977 which is more like the latter part of the 70's. In any case, the onus is upon Obama supporters to produce evidence that the guy no longer thinks that way, not vice versa.

Mr. Wilmer: thank you for at least responding to some of my points. And the remaining points re (a) the "czar" canard; and (b) holding the Virginia GOP candidate to the same standards you wish to apply to Dr. Holdren?
Thank you nyp for your civil response. I believe the same standard should be applied to everyone, period. As a Christian, I see the world in absolutes. There is absolute right and wrong. If a Republican holds such abhrorrent beliefs he should be censured, admonished, and disregarded for office. My pro-life views mandate that I cannot and will not ever vote for someone who is pro-abortion...
Thanks again my friend.

I'm looking in to the Czars and Czarinas too. There is something very evil with these titles. I hope Glenn will shed more light on the controversy. Also, anyone else think that the Red states are in fact communists?
Classic 700. That was funny right there!
Oh wait, Reagan was the one who started using the term Czar. He must be a Marxist too. But then, it was the Communists that overthrew the Czarist Romanoffs. So confusing for a follower of FOX. Glenn will do the researchand get back to us with a special program at 5!!! LOL
There has been a very scary rumor going around the internet about Glenn Beck and an awful crime that may have occurred years ago.I wish he would just face his critics and answer some of the tough questions they have about this case.
Whenever things get a little too confuring..ie with all these Czars, who they are, what they stand for etc...it is best to remove all the useless dribble and ask yourself one thing; "Why?"
If you REALLY want to know the answer, it is right there in front of you. If you just want to keep the arguement going, well, you can do that too.

You NEVER disappoint! Bravo friend! I applaud your consistency. Keep fighting for what you believe in, whatever that might be...

so keith, after the USA absolutely destroyed communism and after a Democrat (and a socialist at the time) Bill Clinton signed the NAFTA, which Obama supports, which expanded our markets and created unprecedented wealth...somehow i dont think there is an intention to turn the US into a communist state. The smart cons know this but hey i guess paranoia and fear sell. Ok so the argument is Van Jones is an avowed communist, which he said himself so Beck isnt lying there. That was some years ago early 21st cent. Is it at least plausible given the fact that in his book the green collar economy which advocates a US led transition to clean energy/low carbon based economy, which the private sector can lead in growth, that he has rejected the communist ideal. I mean did he just write a bestselling book so he can throw people of his commie trail? Glen beck has not even discussed this to his 'intelligent and patriotic viewers'. People who watch cable, left or right are ideologues who will never be
Great article sir. We do need to know where all of these guys presently stand. We know their stances in the past. If they no longer stand true, why would they refuse to disassociate themselves with said stances? Furthermore, if their ideals have changed, when and what lead to it? I do not believe these are unreasonable questions.
Again, great article and keep up the good work.
