Glenn Beck facing "leftist limbo"

Limbo, as in the popular song and dance; question is, "how low can they go?" Hypocrisy, callousness, malice, and outright LIBEL from leftist propagandists have, can it be said, finally answered that question. Of course one daren’t set the low mark just yet. One thing seemingly inevitable, when it appears these loony radicals couldn’t possibly get any baser, they jerk an all new falsehood from their collective sphincter. Perhaps it’s appropriate the aforementioned 50’s party fad was based on a Trinidad funeral dance. Allegorically speaking, today’s "leftist limbo" does appear to signal the imminent death of civil discourse amongst those who disagree with each other.

Incidentally, it had been decided that Glenn Beck was going to take a hiatus from this column for a spell to examine some other issues, but extremist scoundrels have thrown the gauntlet and to not denounce their madness would be ethically wrong.

A website called foxnewsboycott.com, whose primary purpose seems to be hustling overpriced merchandise demeaning Fox News, has posted a grotesque, fabricated quasi-news story headlined, "Glenn Beck Raped and Murdered a Girl in 1990?" Although the site offers the disclaimer: Note: This is satire/parody, but a valid example of the fallacious reasoning Beck is known for, one reader of a previous Glenn Beck article had the audacity - or the unimaginable naiveté - to try and pass the story off as factual.

To make matters worse, this website links to another called glennbeckrapedandmurderedayounggirlin1990.com which claims to be, "The Official Website About The Controversy." Here the proprietors go so far as to produce manufactured "evidence" including clearly doctored "police reports" of the "crime." The save themselves from a libel suite obligatory disclaimer is even more obscure on this one. It is, shall we say, in the fine print and reads, Notice: This site is parody/satire. We assume Glenn Beck did not rape and murder a young girl in 1990, although we haven't yet seen proof that he didn't. But we think Glenn Beck definitely uses tactics like this to spread lies and misinformation. Can this really even be considered a disclaimer? Let the rational reader decide for himself.

And it doesn’t stop there, oooh NO! In turn, this site links to the "origins" of the story on a site called Fark.com, a collection of such vile paltriness that decorum prohibits linking to it here. The so-called "origins" in this website amount to what surely must be a horde of slobbering, half-wit, neophytes banging away on the keyboards of their Rent-A-Center computers, who’ve just learned some new dirty words and couldn’t wait to try them out. This site wouldn’t even be noteworthy except for the way it describes itself under "About Fark": The first thing you should know is that Fark.com isn't a Weblog. Fark.com, the Web site, is a news aggregator and an edited social networking news site. Every day Fark receives 2,000 or so news submissions from its readership. In fairness, which is actually a word utterly foreign to all this, the "origins" information is listed under the "Not News" tab on Fark. Really? That certainly isn’t what some of the "humanity" there seems to be thinking.

The first site mentioned here, foxnewsboycott.com, offers the following twaddle, amongst others, under the heading, Here is some of the evidence:

- Some say he ate her remains in a drug-filled pagan ceremony.
- I cant find a single entry/item/article ANYWHERE that says Mr. Beck is not a rapist.
-  Why haven’t we had an official response to the rumor that Glenn Beck raped and murdered a girl in 1990?

As if this weren’t audacious enough, just before the "comment" section they have the unmitigated gall to post, Attention: Comments are moderated. Off topic rants, personal attacks, harassment, etc. will not be published. See the Comment Policy and F.A.Q. for more information. So... apparently in their purview, the unbelievably malicious mendacity they publish about Mr. Beck is fine, but hey, don’t you dare launch a personal attack, or harass another poster here, because we simply won’t publish it. Well now, aren’t they the Emily Post of left-wing crazies internet?

Consider all this, along with the recently discovered video of Obama cohort Van Jones referring to George W. Bush and republicans in general, as A**HOLES, contrived apology notwithstanding, and what other conclusion could one reasonably come to, than the hard left is populated by people of extremely low moral character. Folk with no sound ideas whose only vehicles of expression are hate and vulgarity.

One relatively rational liberal identifying herself as "Mrs. Polly" posted this rebuff to the entire premise of the campaign:

If the rumor had been a person killed and eaten, or if the victim had been a barnyard animal, or if it had been a rumor he embezzled widows using herbalife, that would have still given blubbering Beck an excuse to revel in his victimhood, but at least it would have been a good dose of his own medicine. There is nothing parodic about a rape accusation. It’s not funny. There are too many horrible situations where rape victims are not believed. And other situations where the vindictive try to make their mark upon their targets using it, and it comes back to bite them, which I think will happen here. This is playing right into the hands of the Wingnuts with an ugly move that I am ashamed came from "our" side.

Good for you Mrs. Polly, well sort of. At least this person gets just how obnoxious and out of control the zealots on their side have become. There may still be a shred of hope after all. By and large however, the majority of these malevolent simpletons truly don’t get that ideas have consequences.

Until next time...

Why do you question the intellect of the American public? Don't you think we can tell the difference between the expression of opinion and the reporting of news? Don't you think we can tell the difference between fact-based courteous discourse and name-calling, nay-saying verbal onslaughts? Enough of this, I'm missing my Fox News programs. Besides, I heard Glenn Beck may finally address these questions about the rape and murder of a girl in 1990.

    Hey L. Burl!
For the same reason you don't yell "fire" in a crowded theatre, killing dozens in the stampede, and then say.."It was just a joke" (ie: parody/satire/humor).

Just because you have the RIGHT to say something, doesn't mean that taste and decorum shouldn't KEEP you from saying it.

The point is, if Glen Beck wasn't so close to the truth, he would not be being so visciously attacked. It's the old Clinton strategy of so badly and falsely smearing the character or reputation of the accuser as to blur the lines of what the REAL story here is.

And the REAL story is that Obama and his administration will end up being the biggest mistake the American electorate has ever made since it has already made the far-left loons come out of the woodwork and spew their bile ceaselessly of the airwaves and the net.

I wish you people would just go away and have the decency to STFU, even though it is your RIGHT not to.

You do realize this is satire, right? The accusation of "rape and murder in 1990" is intentionally and transparently a false accusation. That's the whole point. It's purpose is to point out what Glenn Beck does on a daily basis on TV and radio. He makes radical, unsubstantiated accusations and couches it all in "well, I'm not sure any of this is 'true' but 'some people say,' so it warrants some looking into." It's a parody of the Birther schtick.

You media types just don't get it, do you? All you want to do is protect your own.

The bottom line is that some say that death certificate exists out there somewhere concerning a young girl who died, probably in either Kenya or Hawaii, in 1990, and the cause of death on that death certificate is listed as "raped and murdered by Glenn Beck." Now, it's possible that this death certificate is a forgery, has been altered, or doesn't even really exist. But if so, Glenn Beck could easily resolve this issue by releasing the ORIGINAL death certificate showing that the cause of death is something other than his rape and murder of the girl. The fact that he continues to refuse to do so is a bit troubling, if you ask me. "Innocent until proven guilty" and all that stuff, but he's sure not ACTING innocent, so until he does I'm going to have to assume he's guilty.

This exercise in viral 'truth' is to demonstrate the danger of the baseless allegation, for all civil society, right and left included. You'll notice that the language used closely mimics some of the language that Beck himself uses to insinuate that something sinister is afoot, or the language used by Birthers, or Truthers. If you view this as leftist propaganda, then you've simply and wholly missed the point, which is unfortunate.

C: Keith's point, to all of you reading comprehension challenged people, was that the disclaimers on these internet reports were so miniscule and misleading, that only the most astute(which would count out roughly 53% of the American electorate) can discern that it actually WAS parody vs. straight news reporting. The rape/murder meme about Beck is being promoted as satire, to demonstrate how Beck uses the same tactics to MISLEAD his audience. Beck does not use the despicable tactics as satire, or irony, as is being done to him. Your quote should read, "Some idiot Beck viewers will miss the fact that Beck is misleading them, and in the whole distasteful existence of Glenn Beck, it is needlessly inflaming the fears and biases of some moron Americans, mainly those on the right wing." It crosses the line and therefore needs to be rebuked. And believe me I was NEVER a fan of Jerry Falwell. Thanks again for commenting.
