An article published July 22, 2010 by Italian Panorama magazine claims to have proof of Catholic priests engaged in gay sex. An undercover reporter, Carmelo Abbate, and his gay "accomplice" followed at least three priests for 20 days and secretly filmed their trysts in gay nightclubs. The priests are said to have attended gay clubs and parties and are accused of having several casual sex escapades. Panorama has further claimed that one of the priests donned his cassock before engaging in casual sex and has released the videos. The Vatican has not yet made a formal statement addressing the claims of Panorama magazine.
The Vatican has been rocked by sex scandals before with accusations of pedophile priests and cover-ups of crimes. In Kingston, TN, Father Bill Casey was quickly removed from the priesthood when he admitted to sexually abusing a boy in his church. The church must deal with sexual crimes swiftly and severely, but what about gay sex?
Homosexuality is not a crime, but is determined to be a sin by the Catholic Church. According to the church, every man is guilty of sin and continues to sin throughout his life. Constant atonement and the grace of God is necessary for the remission of these sins. Priests are just men, with the same battles of the flesh that ordinary men face, and can receive the same forgiveness that other men receive. To what standards should a priest be held? Would anything change if priests were allowed to marry?

You made me laugh! The videos are available at Panorama's website- examiner will not allow a link. The priest videos are not too explicit, but it is an Italian mag and has quite a bit of other questionable content. Proceed with caution.
please tell your readers that "panorama" is a mondadori-publication, which is part of the Berlusocni-Press and TV Empire. Berlusconi, the present Italian Prime Minister is not on good terms with the RC-Church.
Nabob- thank you for your comment. My initial guess was that it is a hoax, but my point was does it even matter. Catholic theology says that homosexuality is wrong, so if true, the priests are indulging in sin. But it is the same sin as stealing, etc. Priests must deal with sin just like everyone else.
