Twenty- four year old Seyyed first stated that he downloaded information on women’s rights from an Iranian blogger’s website and distributed the papers to students and teacher’s at the university. After spending the last year in jail waiting for an appeal, Seyyed admitted under torture to being the author of the printed information and he said that his reasoning was to start a discussion on women’s right at the school. The first judgment, sentenced when he was arrested was death.
An addition to Perwiz’s information crime was from printing and distributing a report that stated Muslim fundamentalists used the Koran to justify the oppression of women, which goes against the view of the prophet Mohamed.
Seyyed’s defense attorney, Mohammad Afzal Nourestani stated that "We will appeal to the Supreme Court. During the hearing they did not consider that my client is not the author of the article that it was downloaded from an Iranian site and he had to ask several friends to read it."

I posted the news above because it is an actual event. I do not support in any way the religious oppression of a single human being no matter what their faith is.
Had this event happened in another country under a different religious rule I would have posted it just the same.
People of various faiths are not the problem. Religious extremism that is a part of any legal system in any country of any faith is the problem.
Religious extremism and undo judgments happen in many faiths, whether it is Islam or Christianity and for an example of that just read the comments below.
It would be well for Islam to understand that a religion which serves is better than a "religion" which un-naturally dictates.
Here ion Australia, this week, an Islamic employer dismissed a girl from her job in his store for wearing a Crucifix. Australia has been a country open to members of all countries, like Italy and Germany were to refugees in the late 1970's-but concordance with the nature of the adopted countries by Middle-Easten Muslims is now a disturbing factor in those countries and this. I pray they will wake up to the 21st century.
all religions generally suck. everybody is so bad while only a select few can attain enlightment. we will never understand any afterlife until we get there. I'll email back from my spiritual laptop when I get there. but for now on earth with all its problems, give me a shot of tequila and a couple of Buds to deal with the daily trauma of living. when the Iraq war is finally over, we will all have a good laugh that all this jihad stuff is for the living birds.
