The other day I was discussing strip clubs with my male co-workers. We were not so much discussing the actual physical details of strip clubs, more so if it was an acceptable place for men in relationships. Some of my co-workers complained that it was out of the question and that their girlfriends were completely against the idea. Honestly ladies, I can understand why we should be frustrated with this. The idea of having another woman all over your guy’s lap is difficult to think of.
Guys enjoy going out with their male friends, and sometimes a fun destination is the strip club. Men are very visual creatures who think about sex and admire other women constantly. This does not mean that they will cheat. The strip club is a place in which men can act on their visual fantasy openly and as a huge plus the women there are topless or naked. I have never been to a strip club, but I hear that they’re strict on many rules in order to make the environment safe for dancers and customers.
So, back to the question: Is it appropriate for a man who is in a committed relationship to go to the strip club? I personally have no problem with my guy going to the strip club with his friends. Obviously I wouldn’t be thrilled, but I am secure with our relationship and trust him. I may even ask him details as to how the night went. The only time I would see the strip club as a problem is if my guy was going there on a weekly basis. This would be a concern as it could develop into an addiction. However it is normal if your guy only goes once every blue moon.
If you are still insecure over the idea consider taking a trip with him to the strip club to see the dynamic. More and more women are going to the strip clubs with their guys out of pure curiosity. Most strip clubs will let women in at a discounted cover fee and some won’t even charge.
Regardless, there are still a lot of women who forbid their men to go to the strip club, but what’s not to say he won’t do it secretly?
