Fellow golfers and former friends have turned their back on Tiger Woods. Jesper Parnevik expressed disappointment since he had been the one to introduce Tiger to his beautiful nanny at the time, Elin Nordegren, who then became Tiger's wife.  Other PGA touring golf pros, Ben Crane and Charles Warren, have spoken out against Tiger's indiscretions in the current issue of LifeStyle.

"It goes back to April 1997 when he famously took a nine-iron to the face of blacks by telling Oprah Winfrey on her couch that he wasn't black. He said he wasn't white, either. He said, given that his father is black and that his mother is Asian, he spent his youth inventing a word for himself called "Cablinasian."

"Just like that, in the hearts of many African-Americans, Woods was on his own."  Recently, an email I received stated that "The Rev. Al Sharpton held a press conference today to blast Tiger Woods for the lack of diversity among his mistresses. Sharpton claims that the lack of African-American women among Woods’ harem will have a negative effect on the black community, specifically young black girls."

“Why is it that a man who calls himself black can’t bring himself to cheat on his wife with a black woman?” said Sharpton, speaking to a group of supporters in Harlem. “What does it say to young black girls everywhere when you pass them over? Shame on you, Tiger Woods. What would your daddy say?” Tiger's Downfall Began in 1997

It is difficult to comprehend the amount of hostility pointed at this one man who heretofore had charmed the world with his impeccable golf skills.  Has everyone forgotten?  Have people gone mad?

Recent statistics claim that approximately 45-55% of married women and 50-60% of married men cheat. These people who have turned against Tiger Woods, publicly denouncing his indiscretions and speaking so badly about his character, are they as innocent as they proclaim Tiger to be "bad?"  I think not.

Even among those who vehemently criticize Tiger Woods for his womanizing, some are speculating also about whether or not Tiger's wife was aware of his betrayals and if she was just turning a blind eye.  Why is it so easy to criticize someone who has fallen from grace?

As a therapist I have worked with countless individuals who have, at one time or another, "cheated" on an initmate partner.  Yes, it is certainly better to have an honest, above-board, loving and intimate relationship with one's chosen partner.  However, we all come from such diverse backgrounds and family of origin scenarios that we are often merely living our lives in accordance with what we have experienced in our growing up years.

If anything good can come out of Tiger Woods' humiliating public condemnation, it is the awareness that we are all human and that even someone as spectacular an athlete as he is, can have an area of his life and his consciousness that requires healing.

Are you currently dealing with a partner who has had an affair?  Are you the one being unfaithful? Now is the time to examine your life and your motives.  It is never too late or too early to seek counseling so that you can come to terms with your own unmet emotional needs and unfulfilled desires - and actually choose to live your dreams.

it seems that some media try to increase their popularity rating. i'm wondering why some media only focus on a well-known golfer.

Well, to be honest I like Tiger Woods. I think he did something awful yes, but he is only human, if it were one of us....nobody would care! So, I think the MEDIA should leave him alone. If he had 11 women or 100, who cares. Its his affair, not ours, and I support him, I don't care what people think.

You may wish to sharpen your writing skills. It's "Et tu, Brute."

    Et tu, Brute?
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    (Redirected from Et tu brute)

Death of Caesar by Vincenzo Camuccini "Et tu, Brute?" (pronounced and occasionally spelled "Et tu, Bruté?") ("Even you, Brutus?", or "And you, Brutus?" or "You too, Brutus?" or "You also, Brutus?") is a Latin phrase often used poetically to represent the last words of Roman dictator Julius Caesar. Immortalized by Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, the quotation is widely used in Western culture as an epitome of betrayal.

You COULD say, "And you, Brutus," Saying, "et tu, Brutus" is a malaproprism.

I think the point that you are forgetting is that he has created his whole image based upon a fallacy- a complete lie. People have idolized him as a role model based upon not only his golfing skills, but also this carefully constructed image. This is why people are so angry and in complete disbelief. Yes, most of us have flaws, but his egregious behavior flies in the face of everything the public has been led to believe. And, its not just a singular incident but rather a pattern of behavior over years. This is a false choice you are presenting. This is not about healing. This goes to the cruxt of someone's character and ethics which apparently doesnt seem to count for much anymore.

Al Sharpton may be the hero to some, but he is not a good man when he is divisive or grandstanding for the camera. When you indicate that it's okay for a black or bi-racial man (who appears to be black) to cheat on his wife, as long as it is with a black woman. I understand that there are plenty of black woman without a partner, but I would hope that black women, as well as women of other racial lineage, would be more selective about their life partner's sexual and romantic exploits.

As a caucasian, I am attracted to attractive women (inner beauty counts too) of all races, but I am happily married and have never strayed. I could have easily fell in love with and married a black woman, a Latina, an Asian, etc.

Remember when miscegenation was a crime?

Al Sharpton is a C-bag implying black women are pathetic enough that it would affect their self esteem if
Tiger Woods passes them over to cheat with them. Are you kidding me? I am so sick of this pieceofshit. If anyone is a racist it's Al Sharpton. And I bet he cheats on his wife every chance he gets and I'm sure their not all black.

That "comment" by Al Sharpton was not true. It was a joke from a spoof satire type of website.
