If you have read anything about The Secret and The Law of Attraction, you know that you tend to attract into your life what you believe. If you believe you will lose weight, you will. Just by believing it is so, you can recreate that perfectly slim and toned bikini body or build up that contest ready muscular workout body, But what you believe is only part of the equation.
Your belief may be that it is possible for you to lose all that weight (that you put on while enjoying some delicious foods). Your belief may be that with just a little extra effort, you can recreate a more youthful and physically fit body. However, you may also believe that you deserve to enjoy your food, to enjoy your leisure, to not have worry so much about dieting.
Well, maybe, just maybe, you can actually forget about dieting, forget about having to believe strongly that you can do it. Instead, add a powerful motivator, something you really want, that is more important to you than those beliefs that can get sideswiped so easily.
Living in a materialistic society, MONEY often talks. With money, we can have almost anything we truly want. Without money, we are often limited. So here's the catch. Researchers put a group of obese people into three different programs: Two of the programs had a cash reward. The third program did not.
THE GOAL: Lose 16 pounds in 16 weeks.
THE RESULTS: The groups that received a cash reward lost 14 and 13 pounds in the 16 weeks, but the third cash-poor group, lost only three pounds.
So, throw away those calorie counters. Throw away those diet books. Set up a realistic money goal. Try it with a few friends, just the way you might wager in a game of canasta, bridge, mah johngg or poker, you can wager about weight loss. Set a goal for a certain number of weeks. Create a potty with set contributions from everyone in the group. And then, at the end of the alotted time, winner or winner take all. You might be surprise how much weight you will suddenly lose when you have a real, motivating incentive.

Hi Erica,
I mastermind regularly and our group was looking for ways to encourage people to stick to their commitments and therefore increase their accountability.
One way was to pay everyone in the group $100 if you did not complete your commitment for a specific week. Seeing that there are 7 people in the group, that $700 seemed to be a good motivator for people to stay strong to their commitments.
What an interesting way to keep a group on task. DrErica
